2014 Draft Prospect Thread

Im a huge fan of the 22223 def !! For some reason i beleave your spot on with it.

Just saw this part of the thread ... found and bookmarked the page ... really like it but that is no surprise as I've long counted myself as an OTG fan.

Thanks Manxman and "Fanatical"

Thank ye kindly, Brother!! Honored!!

Heh!! God love ya, Brother Lux!! :rocker:

Where do you think the strengths are in this draft?

From my perspective:

WR - Dependent on some declarations but this might be an even better class than last year. This is a potentially outstanding class that might lack an AJ Green type but looks really promising late day one and on day 2.

CB - There might not be a Patrick Peterson or Morris Claiborne but there's an abundance of CB2 types ready to be picked on day 2.

OT/OL - A lot of potential day one/early day two options this year.

And in terms of weaknesses.

Man there's a seeming lack of quality pass rush this year.

I would say WR, CB, G and some would say QB

Low at LB, S, RB and TE depends whos comeing out

I love the consensus market value thing versus your market value. I always call it grade and projection, but it's a bit vague. Mind if I use consensus value vs. my value?

What about "Market Value v. Internal Value"?

1 ~ As you know, I dramatically changed my Position on Jones ~ here and on my Blog ~ months before he ever played a Down, but it would've hardly shown much Integrity to amend my Report, now, would it?

2
~ It's common knowledge that Jones is the classic example of The Industry sometimes having far better information than the rest of us. Everybody now knows that he was playing hurt in the Tape we all saw.

3 ~ Dobson and Jones ~ if Dobson does shake out well ~ would only be a fraction of my Misses. I like to think that I've had far more Hits, but there are plenty of Misses in my Future, and I don't hide from'm.

4 ~ But I've got to say that I find it bizarre and kind of pathetic that you're making this lame and unprovoked attempt to discredit me. It says far more about you than me, don't you think?

A wee bit sensitive today? I missed on Jones too, as I stated. The smiley clearly showed no malice etc?

While Grid has had misses he's probably had some hits as well.

His report on Thompkins shows he saw much more than all 32 front offices although I'm not sure he needs people to jump to his defence, firstly because there's no-one attacking him.

His website is excellent.

Thanks, Bro.

I guess I failed to pick up the Vibes that you and Conn were laying down.

The Net will do that, sometimes...My Apologies, Brothers!!

Is there? I'm afraid I haven't done more than nibble at the Edges, there.

I should preface this by saying that all I have, beyond QB, the O Line, and the Wide Outs, are strong impressions, which may very well change dramatically between now and MayDay, as I get deeper into things in the Months ahead.

Indeed, even at those Positions, I can only speak to those Prospects generally perceived as upper Tier, as I've done very little sifting through the gravel, at this point ~ except at QuarterBack, of course.

And of course I should also stipulate that in answering your Question, I'll be pretending that all major Eligible Underclassmen will be declaring, though I stay out'f guessing whether or not they actually will.

Last of all, I should stipulate that I am really, really awful at evaluating CornerBacks, so I am more than happy to defer to you on that Position, and so I'm delighted that you see such Depth thither!!

But, yeah, Corner's looking pretty deep to me, as well.

QuarterBack ~ Ludicrously deep!! :rocker:

Center ~ Barren.

Tight End ~ Pretty Grim. Here, I mean the classic In Line End like Gronk. I consider Amaro and Ebron Flex Ends.

Flank Defender ~ "OLB", to you Earthlings ~ looks pretty deep!!

MidFielder ~ "MLB", Earthlings!! ~ looks pretty barren!!

CornerBack ~ Yeah, as you say: Not much on the Top Shelf, but remarkable Depth of Talent.

***

It'll be a while, yet, before I have a firmer grasp on things.

And sorry to take so long to get back ~ I'm at Work, you see. Bad Employee!!

OTG - no probs. You're one of the best on here, and you're certainly not someone who deserves any stick.

And Please do: Honored, Sir.

I'm the same. Still working on impressions largely. i'm really waiting until mid Jan when we know who's declared because I think that makes or breaks this draft. Two consecutive years of record declarations has decimated the Senior class. The QB position gets decimated if no underclassmen declare. Same with DT and ASJ, Amaro and Ebron are all underclassmen.

With no declarations, this would be the top 20 this year based on the CBS rankings):

Anthony Barr
Jake Matthews
Khalil Mack
Taylor Lewan
C.J. Mosley
Cyril Richardson
Jason Verrett
Trent Murphy
Zach Mettenberger
RaShede Hageman
Kyle Van Noy
Gabe Jackson
Jordan Matthews
Derek Carr
Zack Martin
Lamarcus Joyner
Morgan Breslin
Chris Smith
Tajh Boyd
Christian Jones

I know there'll be plenty of declarations, probably another record, but it shows that any predictions at this stage really are a fools errand.

"Decimated." Nicely put!!

As you've illustrated all too clearly, this Class would be historically awful if all the UnderClassmen decided to complete their Educations!!

He might be undersized but I really like QB Keith Price from Washington. He has really improved this year and I love the way he moves in the pocket.

And OTG's guy Myles Jack just ran it in for another 6.

I have a genius and dastardly plan.

1. Sign Arthur Jones.
2. Sign Jason McCourty
3. Draft Kyle Fuller in Rnd 1
4 Draft Darqueze Dennard in Rnd 2
5 Wait a couple of years and draft Kendall Fuller.

In a couple of years time, our defense will be dominated by four families.

OK. Flight of fancy over - back to regular programming.

All we need to do is find a way to get the Titans to release J-Mac.

More importantly, DE Cassius Vra—er, Marsh scored on a touchdown reception.
