2007 Interactive NFL Mock Draft Discussion

Man guys, I am really sorry. I have been real busy with school lately, and haven't posted much.

man, I feel like the idiot that I was getting mad at last year.

Again, really sorry guys.

Plus, I kind of had April 15th pegged on my calendar, didn't realize that I could move up two whole days.

rules state you had until the 15th & I was not in favor of rushing your pick just for the sake of moving things along. That's not to say I think discussing who should be taken prior to the deadline is wrong. having an open discussion will keep things moving smoothly & hopefully maintain some level of interest as we get deeper into this mock draft.

Ben Patrick?

O man thats a pick that has surprise and confusion written all over it.

So did Logan Mankins (at least surprise, im not sure if I was confused)

Desmond Clark and Ben Patrick, along with Cedric Benson, Bernard Berrian, and Musin Muhammed? That's a pretty potent offense....

now if I can only address the signal caller....

hint hint

I love those picks that make me reach for the draft guide magazine. lol

This is a question probably for the mods, but why is the edit function for my posts only available on certain posts & not all? Are you only allowed to edit posts you made on the same day?

Yep. Or maybe it's a period of hours. And you can't delete the first post of a thread, as I regrettably found out today.

I think the Bears offense is actually terrible.

Benson i have never liked and thought to be honest Thomas Jones was the better half.

Berrian is a throw it deep reciever and just hope he catches it.

Clark is an average TE

Muhammed is overrated and as number 2 should be a lot better than what he is and what he is paid.

I'm sorry but I don't like the pick, they could've taken Grubbs here, and with their second they could have had either Patrick or Miller....that being said, if Grubbs falls all the way to your next pick I'll look like an idiot

well, you are of course entitled to your opinion. I guess its good that I am picking for the Bears instead of you, because apparently you believe the entire offense needs an overhaul.

Man, I hear ya. I had an exam EVERY DAY this week, and had to pick in the midst of a delirium induced by 2 hour naps every 18-24 hours...

Anyway..I like the pick. I wanted him for myself. I thought I was sneaking up on him in the third, but I guess I was wrong. Made me realize how much of a drag it might be watching the real 2nd round go this year..

I like the pick of a TE (could have gone other directions) but why Ben Patrick and not Zach Miller? Not critiquing, just asking.

I'm glad Da Bears took Patrick so that the Pats won't have to

Solid pick Gomez. Beason is a perfect fit for the Colts.

Cheers. I considered De Marcus Tyler, who has some upside and fits a big need. Then I read the work ethic stuff and saw the off field issues. As much as I dislike the Colts, I have a lot of respect for them, and they avoid characters like that.
I also toyed with Anthony Gonzalez; Marvin Harrison is getting on a bit. However, Beason looks really good and will fit the Cover 2 system to a tee. He's quick, tackles well, is versatile, has good range, intelligence and works hard. He is a mere 6 foot, so a little "short". However, when I think of "undersized", I think of Zach Thomas and Sam Mills. Some scouts think he might suit MLB.

Yup, that was a good pick.
Patrick is a good pick for the Bears, though I was thinking Tony Ugoh as the next best LT on the board. Beason's choice just goes to show my suspicions about certain cats around here are not based on fantasy...there is one who has some strong Colt tendencies that bear continued monitoring. :violent:

What? You put school before the Internet?
I guess you must be doing a proper course. I did German, pre the Internet, and spent more time in the bar. I love the thinking on your pick, BTW. I was trying to guess who you'd pick, given that their biggest need, QB (IMHO) was a non starter at #31.

Oi! Consider yourself hissed at!

Well, there's the 1st round. I'd like to express my appreciation to everyone for their effort. We're well ahead of schedule which I though may be a problem.

I was curious as to how it would go, and now we know. It seems as reasonable to me as if it were printed in a paper.

A special thanks to Sebman et al for taking on the responsibilities of updating and moderating.

Cheers, all. Here's to the next rounds!
