60 minutes just had a puff piece on McVay and the Rams.
During the spot, they had some MBA from Stanford, who works for the Rams, and she said that AI is going to become a standard part of the NFL and that all teams will have McVey like genius in the form of an AI agent calling all the plays. I certainly hope that the patriots have started looking into using artificial intelligence to help McDaniels make the best possible call for each play. I have to believe that AI would be better and might improve their chances of scheming to a better offense.

The possible uses of AI in coaching seem limitless.
Vrabel and Mcdaniels both seem old school. Hope the organization is finding ways to use the technology.

Will Bob be willing to pay for upgraded AI?

So the NFL is going to allow AI on game days, when they don't even allow computers now?

AI really is just going to "optimize" everything and make it all ****ty and bland. A goddamn shame. A stand-in for one's executive function is about the most banal future I could imagine.

I agree. However if some teams use it and others do not, could be a big disadvantage.
I would be OK if NFL bans it to keep playing field level

Leave it up to the teams then—all is fair if it’s equal slate and that’s as level as it gets

This worried me a lot. If Josh's play calls are out there like that, no wonder we struggle to execute. If they get someone to break down his tendencies with specific plays, we are doomed. I feel this should be some type of gate!

Well none of us should be surprised Sam is a proponent of AI. AI often masquerades as something else, trolls endlessly, fabricates without regard for facts, willfully misrepresents unsupported crap as established fact, sometimes outright lies, has no sense of honor and generates endless slop... just like Sam. Only a matter of time before it welshes, if it hasn't already, then Sam and slop AI will be indistinguishable

Surface Pro is a computer. And it depends on a network connection to be very useful, so I’d like to know how the NFL prohibits computers now. Do they provide the tablet and all apps, with a locked config ? Even if they do the team will supply the data so I can think of ways to hack the data connection so they can evade the league restrictions. Can you point me at more info about the league restrictions, please?

Your skepticism has been noted by Skynet, and your name has been added to the Skynet High Intensity Training list (**** list).

But, will it be a big disadvantage for the teams using it, or their opponents? I think it might be a disadvantage to the teams outsourcing playcalling to silicon entities instead of carbon-based coaches.

OTOH I’m unconvinced that there would be much difference between AI play calls and Josh’s slavish adherence to most predictable play calls of all coaches in the NFL.

This is where I stopped reading.
This is it. Now step up Bob and buy it for your team
Its an early dumbed down version but its a start.

Mike is a great motivator but when it comes to X's and O;s he is not BB or Sean McVay. He and McDaniels need help. Neither is the brightest tool in the shed.
