The NFL Network reported Monday afternoon that Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker is expected to be active for tonight's game against the Buffalo Bills.
Welker has been battling an injury after missing three of the team's four preseason games, including the final two exhibition contests against Washington and the New York Giants. However in that final game he was dressed along with quarterback Tom Brady, and appeared to be in good spirits. His return tonight gives Brady an additional weapon as Brady gets set for his first regular season game since being knocked out in game on of the 2008 season.
