PostGame Thread 2026 OFFICIAL POSTGAME THREAD: Patriots Beat Eagles 24-21

Immediate Postgame Reactions
Found the incessant chatter between Zo and the McCourty twins insufferable.
They do not announce the game, unfortunately.
Very difficult to watch with the current style of the announcers.
It's always been that way. They seem to think that's what we want. I just want to know who's on the field, who made the play, who didn't make the play.

Chad muma is not ready for prime time.
Agreed. I've said before that we are no different than the other 31 teams.. there's no great depth. WR for us is the deepest part of the roster. I try not to get to caught up in depth.. you need it but not every single NFL player can be starting level. As Parcells said you need the Jimmies and Joe's too!

And they were actually infinitely better than last week.
When I was watching I thought to myself that maybe Zolak was talked to during the week, because he was way less annoying than last week.
Still not good, I think he's an idiot, but it was very noticeable to me.
I was struck by that, there seemed to be more of an effort to remember there was a game on the field.

The team certainly doesn’t make personnel decisions based on fan sentiment, but publicity and broadcast decisions are another matter. I wouldn’t be surprised if our collective primal scream about last week’s game was noted.

Very well could have been a factor.
It was very noticeable to me how much more professional Zolak was last night, albeit the bar is pretty low.

I am sure it was. When he is teamed with the hyper-competent Bob Sosci, Zo is ok: grunting, hooting, gasping his way through a game, in the background. It's like watching a game with your tipsy uncle: there are worse things. But when he has to do the TCB work of managing a broadcast, handling the transitions, orchestrating discussion, he's just too much of a boob to hack it. All in all, I'm fine with him as background noise for Sosci, but beyond that, he's in over his gigantic, gin-soaked head.

Obviously we need to see him in real games, but I am starting to wonder about Prunty as Carlton Davis' long-term replacement, or at least someone who could compete for that job. He's been 'lock-down' through 2 pre-season games, he has the requisite size and very good NFL athleticism. This year's Craig Woodson?

That is for Vrabel to judge. Chism seems to be better than last year, a developing #5 WR.

If Vrabel doesn't agree, I certainly have no issues with him being on the PS with Dorner and DeGennaro.

Fair enough, I am one to defer to the knowledge of the coaches as well. I fear sometimes we're trying to see Edelman and Welker in Chism, and he just isn't... That. I haven't seen anything from him other than effort, which is super important BUT does have its own limitations when not accompanied by an intense base-level talent that the NFL demands.

If Kyle Williams developed into a 50 800 deep threat WR:

1. He'd be worth pick 69
2. He'd help the offense considerably
3. He'd eventually be a $20M+ FA

We should be content if he develops into a reliable deep threat.

If he develops into that, great. The PU postgame podcast has Troy Brown on and he’s said that KW knows how to accelerate. He doesn’t know how to decelerate or lean in or do any of the other things required for a WR.

The thing about trading Boutte to give KW more play time is you need KW to develop or you’re really out two WRs and back to square one.

Yep. He still needs to learn the subtle nuances of the position.

Two of our top backup interior OL went injured last game. You can only be so deep before a couple of injuries really starts hurting.

Rupcich is a fringe NFL player who's bounced in and out of practice squads & 53s his entire, undistinguished career. If it weren't for Vrabel, really, the dude might've been out of football already. He is most certainly Not a "top backup" and shouldn't have been on this team either if Eliot had a clue. Heck, GVR's a marked Upgrayedd from Rupcich; and given his own connection with McD I'm a bit surprised he wasn't signed much earlier than this.

I will say this though: That Philthy TD drive during which they barely ran the football was a cold slap of reality to them and I believe that it made them focus more on what was actually happening on the field... To me the unlistenable stuff didn't arrive until well into the 4th quarter when the women started getting camera time...
