PATRIOTS TRAINING CAMP 2026 Patriots Training Camp Day 7

I wouldn't doubt if Landry retires. we've been reading negative updates on his progress from the start.

Yep, I think that's a distinct possibility. It could be one of those situations where Vrabel has the talk with him and lets him know that time is up.

Of COURSE there will be a day off tomorrow. God forbid they practice 4 whole days in a row.

Yep Gone are the 2-A-Days and going multiple days without a break.. Welcome to the watered down NFL.

on pure pass rush downs, Jones will kick inside some and spell Barmore/Williams some, probably Barmore more. That will leave both Edge spots open for whoever our best combo ends up being.
I expect Jacas to contribute very early in the season.
If edge guys earn it. We kicked Williams and Barmore outside on passing downs at times last year.

They certainly did.
We have multiplie guys that can rush from multiple spots.
Barmore/Milt/Jones.
Jacas seems (time will tell) to be stout enough to enter into this group.
I don't expect Jacas to be a terror right out of the gate, but I do expect timely contributions early in the season.

“Breakneck”
I likey…

Love to hear this. Was talking to a friend who was asking about what I think about the Pats going in to this season and my first remark was: Josh McD finally has all the pieces he likes to have for an offense. We see them keeping the TE spots full with Hill gone. We have Gilliam. We have what should be an improved OL. AJ Brown, Doubs. I told him that I think we'll get to see McD really make this offense multi-dimensional and hard to read, while everyone who is getting their 2nd year under him (Maye included) should be more familiar with the concepts and be able to go up-tempo more. We have the tools to eat the clock AND run hurry-up, so it's awesome to hear that McD wants to work on tempo with Maye.

Yes, I know this. I mentioned it because he was never listed in the top 3 OL units for warmups in the first few days of training camp. It's a big jump for him and I'm rooting for him to make the roster because I think he has talent and athleticism. It sucks everyone knows him because of the wild sequesnce of penalties against Dallas. He will push Bryant or less likely Crownover off that last OT spot.

Edit: and I already mentioned about him making the roster before, not because Moses gets a day off.

HUH? Hudson was listed on the 3rd line unit. The Pats have 16 O-line but Metz is headed to the PS in all likelihood because he's a exempt player.

I won’t be surprised to see Ponder and Jacas as the starters, Swinson and Landry as rotational depth. That will help protect Landry and develop the youngsters. In my optimistic fantasies I hope to see Jacas as a DROY dark horse.
You forgot Dre'mont Jones He's an Edge guy as well.

The reports I was seeing, Hudson wasn't even running third.

Which makes me think they might want to see what they have with the young players, and know what Hudson is.

I suspect Hudson will be cut, but called up and dressed before the younger player on the roster, unless someone really flashes.

I haven't seen that in any of the tweets from reports in the first few practices.

Metz looks like football player. Reminds me of Vollmer. I'd love for him to be developed like a Stephen Neal-type. I didn't realize he was an exemption.

As an aside, as an International Pathway player, they should be able to get a PS roster exemption, letting them carry him in addition to the normal limit, but at the cost of not being able to activate him to the 53.

I have zero concerns with Jacas.
really, how quickly can he understand the defense, and start contributing?
game 4? 6? 8?
if Landry is healthy, I expect Jacas to be 4th or 5th man up.
he has plenty of time to acclimate, and he looks like he is in great shape.
let the knee get stronger, and start understanding the defense
There isn't really all the much to understand at his position. He's going to be a designated pass rusher this year. See QB, hit QB.

Ideally we dont need the big guys on the edge but its a good fallback.

Fixed it.

You’re right, I forgot him. It’s far from certain but I think both Ponder and Jacas could outplay him in camp to win the starting slots.

Adding Jones into that mix does make it more likely Landry might retire imo.

Looked at Lindy's magazine in the grocery store yesterday. The consensus is that the Pats are a fluke and the insanity continues that Buffalo will win the division. AFCCG is Bengals over Chiefs and NFCCG is Rams over Lions. Rams over Bengals in the Super Bowl.

These publications were the gold standard my friends and I would be waiting for in anticipation in the late 90's and 2000's. It seems like the quality has downhill in recent years.

I agree with Riddick. With the improvements on both sides of the ball the Patriots have surpassed the Bills overall as a team.
Bills are, IMO, marginally worse than last year. Pats are better than last year. Health is the main thing that would keep the Pats from winning the division. I could see a step back for the Bills, I think the new HC is terrible. My bold prediction, if I was to make one, would be Pats basically wrapping up the division Dec 6 in the second Bills game. I personally see the Pats as the class of the division,

I mean, I am assuming D. Jones will lock down one side. With both Jacas or Swinson spelling him. And Ponder probably owning the other side at this moment. Although it will be super exciting if/when we see Jacas & Swinson at Edge on the same play. Hopefully we can really develop these 3 young guys.
It was also good to hear Gainer had a rushing win - not sure what position he was lined up at though?

I presume that you aren't talking about the regular season.
