La Canfora: Brady unlikely to sign extension, will test free agency

Interesting that despite all the media takes, including Schefter, the odds have actually moved even more in favor of TB12 returning.

Hate the odds on LA Chargers as a value bet. That organization is so dysfunctional and players know that. Colts have an all-star GM and would be an obvious fit if not for them being the Colts. Think the “Gisele needs sprawling metro” is not necessarily true, just speculation, and I don’t think she’s need to move in a place like Indy even if Tom played there. They seem to have a bunch of homes and flexibility. Also like the Miami odds. A lot of former coaches, Devante Parker, draft picks GALORE to either use or trade for win-now vets.

Tom Brady Reportedly Buys Las Vegas Property, Fueling Raiders Rumors
It’s still a couple of weeks before the offseason officially starts, but Las Vegas Raiders fans may have something big to look forward to. Tom Brady has reportedly purchased a property in Sin City, and everyone is losing their minds over what it could possibly mean.

For the record I am not losing my mind ... whatever he does is fine.

Dear God, please let this end Monday or Tuesday morning post SB.

The problem is Bill will want an agreement prior to free agency if he is not all in with Stidham. If no agreement and TB goes somewhere else then Bill is left without a viable free agent, stuck with whose left. I don't believe he would do that. So, no agreement prior to tampering period (lol), Bill will sign someone and TB will be forced somewhere else.

Curran: There's no perfect landing spot for Brady
He was with the Chargers for 10 seasons (2004-14) and does radio in San Diego now. I grabbed him for our podcast because I figured he’d have insight on what a wonderful fit the Chargers would be for Brady. It’s the best spot for him, all of us in the media seem to agree.

“I just can’t see it happening,” Hardwick said, taking a verbal firehose to the notion. “It makes zero sense to me. The entire picture makes no sense other than the possibility he wants to get involved in the production business and be closer to that.

“Other than that, to go from the New England Patriots, an organization which owns two of their own private 737s with Patriots logos on the side and be part of a winning organization then come out to Los Angeles and be part of an organization that is not the owner but the renter in a stadium, I can’t conceptualize that.”

Hardwick went on to explain that, instead of 737s, the Chargers have one retrofitted cargo plane they use for travel. Once, when the team flew to Miami, they realized they hadn’t spent on a police escort to the hotel. The players had to get out their phones to help guide the bus driver to the destination.

The Patriots are — like the Cowboys, Giants, Redskins and a few others — deep-pocketed franchises that spare little expense on keeping players comfortable with the aim of making them competitive. The Patriots operating income was pinpointed at $240M by Forbes last September.

Teams like the Jaguars, Chargers and Raiders are all under $80M in operating income. The Raiders were at $28M.

What are you trying to do to me, Tommy? Ugh.

Just saw him at Nashville airport, I swear guys. Photo to follow.

As promised.

Tampa Bay was my dark horse team for TB12 and then Peter King has to go in there fumbling like an idiot and ruin it. He’s never right about anything. This is funny though:

Tampa has the weapons already, lots of money to spend and a QB-friendly coach who has worked well with veterans before (Roethlisberger, Luck, Palmer have all loved Arians), their defense is trending in the right direction, and the main divisional threat is the Saints who also have a big QB question mark. Plus you’re still in Florida, I realize Tampa isn’t exactly Miami but it’s a lot nicer than Indianapolis or something. It makes a lot of sense but they are kind of a “lesser” franchise which does give me pause.
