Grier or Rosen as QB of the future?

I'm a big Grier fan, I think he's a warrior and a winner. Reminds me of Jimmy G, as far as his size, and quick release. That being said, it's an easy choice in my eyes, I think Rosen is better than any QB from the 2019 draft. I felt he was the 3rd best QB from the 2018 draft. Mayfield was the most NFL ready, Darnold, IMO has the highest upside of the 2018 QB draftees, and Rosen was the most mechanically sound of the best 2018 QB draftees. I would love to get Rosen, I would even give up pick #32 (not sure the Pats would).

No one with the last name of Grier should ever be affiliated with the NEP ever again.

I could see either as the replacement for Hoyer

I think we will draft someone and the year Brady retires we will get the top FA available in the QB market.

I think this year we draft 2 QB's ... hopefully 1 of them or Etling retires Hoyer to coaching.

There's no way we draft two QBs when we already have three on the roster and Brady is 100% playing. I think there's little chance we draft one QB unless BB has seen all he cares to see with Elting.

The Pats like Hoyer a lot more than the average fan does. He's not going anywhere this year.

Will Grier would be a solid pick.

Rosen sucked a year ago before he was drafted, nothing's changed. I wouldn't give up a 2nd for him, or a 7th for that matter...

I would do a 7th, but I am puzzled how people think a QB that hates doing prep work can be a hit in this offense.

Grier has wood for Brady and the Patriots. I wonder if he is saying those types of things to scare other teams off. Maybe...maybe not.

I'd take Grier. IMO a QB whose gonna be good should show something year one. It won't be a great season automatically but they need to show more than Rosen did.

While you could say 'some QBs sit their entirety of year one!' I would argue that it doesn't really apply to this point. Maybe some QBs are better off sitting and some are more comfortable getting immediately thrown in the fire.

In the end it's all just football and you'll tend to show signs early if you can play at this level or not. Rosen to me hasn't shown enough of those signs to make me confident in him. Give me the unknown of Grier all day.

Also to all those people who say the first year doesn't matter, find me a bunch of good QBs who sucked in year one and looked hopeless only to bounce back and be completely different in year 2. It isn't many. John Elway comes to mind but that's the only one who did.

Maybe Steve Young

Rosen would be interesting...kind of like ingesting antifreeze or strychnine would be interesting. Guy is pure poison. There's a reason the cards want to dump mr hottub in the dormroom cancer.

Maybe Steve Young

I'll have to do a little study on it to see just how common it is. I'm pretty sure it is very rare though.

Can either really beat out hoyer for the backup job?

The reality needs to be Brady in 2019. (Win 7th Super Bowl)
We go 0 and 16 in 2020. Jets like suckage.
We draft Lawrence of Clemson first overall in April 2021.

Win super bowl in feb 2022. Etc. etc. etc.

Maybe Steve Young

Not bad except for TD/INT ratio:
Passing: 560-316-4102, 16 TD, 22 INT; Rushing: 135-883, 9 TD; Two-point conversions: 3

Troy Aikman
Eli Manning
