I'm not sure this will be a popular decision.

NFL's first male dancers will hit the sidelines this season - CNN

The Los Angeles Rams and the New Orleans Saints will have male cheerleaders dancing on their squads for the first time.
Dancers Quinton Peron and Napoleon Jinnies have been preparing for the NFL season since they made the Rams cheerleading squad in March.

"Still can't believe I'm one of the first males in history to be a pro NFL cheerleader!" Jinnies tweeted after being selected.

Peron and Jinnies' success inspired 25-year-old Jesse Hernandez to try out for the New Orleans Saints' Saintsations cheerleading team.

Jesse Hernandez auditioned for the New Orleans Saints' Saintsations cheerleading team in April.
He told CNN affiliate KATC that his mom sent him a link with their story.
"She told me it was my time to shine," he said in a video posted before his final audition.
"The process has been great, everyone has been really nice to me and I can't wait to see where this goes."

If I don’t want male cheerleaders, am I sexist even though I’m male?

I don’t quite get what the demographic is for them. I don’t think women really care to see a male cheerleader, so I don’t see how this even appeals to the “pink hats”. Who is this going to appeal to?

I'd rather get rid of all cheerleaders. I don't think they add any value to the sport. When I want to see a dance show, I go to the theater. When I want to watch football, I want to watch football.

Also, these guys look like they have training -- I'm surprised they don't want to be real performers. NFL level cheerleading is pretty mundane. They don't do any interesting choreography. It's not really artistic expression, although I'm biased as a former professional performer. I toured with a company for a few years performing acrobatics and dance, and personally, I'd find cheerleading a very boring and commercial outlet for my skillset and interests. To each his own, I guess.

Well, they're working at least.

I mean how effective are they in getting the crowd to cheer louder? Isn’t that their whole purpose?

I think it would improve the show the cheerleaders put on if the dudes will be tossing them up in the air like they do in the NCAA?? Or will the dudes be dancing also? If it's the latter....I couldn't care less...

I blame their uniforms.

This Patriots cheerleading uniform above represented a long tradition of successful mediocrity.

These shown above are the worst disgrace known to humanity since the dark days of the Holocaust.

Not exactly the LFL, no.
