It happens all the time, when you shoot yourself! Imagine you have a gun holstered inside your waistband and you reach for it, but because you are an idiot and a) don't have the gun in a holster that has a trigger guard and b) are an even bigger idiot for having a gun on you while you are out drinking. You grab the gun by the trigger and it goes off, it will most likely graze your thigh, but if you seated it might also enter your calf.

The gun laws in Texas are much less strict than those in NYC. What Talib is going to get jammed up on is lying to the Police. I'm sure that a gun toting drunk setting off a gun in a public establishment is a far less crime than the laws of physics letting air out of game balls. So he should be OK for the Thursday night opener.
