I liked Mike Adams but when about a month ago he and Lenny Mags were talking about Stan Musial vs Ted Williams and no one was calling to chime in I knew they were in trouble.

I admit I was finding myself listening more to Pac Man Jones than Mikey.

Hope he lands on his feet ok.

On another note I cannot stand the new format of midday show with Ordway. Its back to the frathouse bathroom neanderthal humor. Kinda had my fill of the whiner line....

i like planet mikey. i used to listen when i was working second shift out on the rd working. i remember when he took over the studio when he first got the job. good luck to him. i hope he gets another gig.

He's Felgers light, and he's a local guy, it works for Felger because he's a cheesehead, we want our local guys to support the local teams now and then.

Yea he is a wanna-be. No question.

I like Mikey but sometimes Im just not in the mood for him. Seemed to be happening more and more.

That's too bad, I always liked Mikey... was never religious about listening, but if I was out driving at night I'd pop him on and usually enjoy his mellow vibe, and "dad" sense of humor. Hope he ends up alright.

The reports seem to indicate it was on good terms, but I am not so sure. Very unusual to do something like this out of the blue and effective immediately without some bad blood.

Even Ordway when he got canned several years ago, was given a week or so to sign off. (And that was obviously on good terms because he's now back at WEEI).

Probably more ESPN than CBS since Entercom (WEEI's parent) already has ESPN on 850 AM. That would be lazy programming though so yeah.

I liked Mikey too...I honestly didn't know he was still on the air until this post. If I'm not the only one, (and I think I'm not) that must be indicative of the reason for the leaving.

And yeah Jones sucks. I'll never understand why the Patriots (Kraft Sports Productions) wanted to give him a show on their air. He's as negative a personality as you can find. Not a good spokesperson to have to get your "messages" out there. At least they only had him for one year.

The lack of good quality Boston sports talk stations is pretty unsettling.
