#1 WR? Brandon Aiyuk or Deebo anyone?

I think we have a lot of WR’s like Aiyuk already; Juju, Polk, Baker, Osborn… why add another “good” not “great” weapon.

If they improve the passing attack with better blocking, QB play, scheme…. the Pat’s could have some 1000 yard WR’s also. Aiyuk is a solid player, but he’s not special or unique.

I optimistic too but not at your level Wozzy obliviously. I don't think you know how Great Aiyuk is to make such a Bold statement.

Juju once had 1426 yards receiving, better than Aiyuk ever has. The year before last Juju had almost 1000 yards with Mahomes despite playing the last third of the year on a bum knee.

Juju if healthy is a good WR, not great but good. Put a good WR in a great situation like San Francisco where he is peppered with a ton of high quality targets and he'll maximize that good talent... it doesn't make him Randy Moss or Calvin Anderson.

Stephon Gilmore got a bad PFF rating as a Buffalo Bill, he was clearly one of the most talented CB's in the NFL, he was just on a bad team. Conversely JC Jackson was never a #1 shutdown CB, he was merely "good" and looked better because he was in a great system surrounded by great players. When each of these respective players went to their next team, their talent was revealed. Gilmore was DPOY, Jackson was an albatross around the Charger's neck.

It's a team sport. You "Aiyuk or bust" people are confusing production with talent. You pay top talent top of the market salaries, overpaying for merely "good" is what bad teams do. He's 6 feet tall, he is as fast as the entire skill position group at my small mostly white high school... 4.5 forty... you don't overpay for that.

If Drake Maye becomes a beast, some of the WR's already here will explode.

It starts with blocking and QB play first...

Next offseason the cap gets tight for the 49ers and they have to pay Purdy soon. They clearly have letting one of these high priced WR's go on their mind because they drafted Pearsall in the first... he seems like a natural replacement for Aiyuk.

The 49ers are waiting for some team to get stupid and do their job for them... nobody should trade high draft capital for this guy, if you wait he might be available as a free agent next offseason and there are better WR's likely available.

It's hard to act nonchalant and insist you want a first round draft pick when other teams know you are broke and need to pay your young QB. I'll take Aiyuk for a 5th or 6th and even then, I'm not paying him a top of the market deal.... he's not as good as Jefferson, Amon Ra, AJ Brown or any of the guys at the top.
That not a fair statement regarding Aiyuk look at the Offense he plays in and players Samuel - Kittle and McCaffrey and Aiyuk lead them in receiving yards yeah he's on the road to greatness.

With the Great AB on the other side.

San Francisco was the highest scoring offense in the NFL in points per drive and 2nd highest in score percentage. They had the 4th most passing yards and 2nd most passing TD's in the NFL.

Shanahan's offense is wildly efficient and explosive. Deebo is more of a gadget player, a RB playing WR. Aiyuk on any other team in the NFL is a slot receiver. He is a product of a great offense, take him away from that offense and he becomes just another "good" WR.

Juju can make a case for us carrying 6 WR's if he lives up to his current contract. The sad thing is he would be considered 6th on our depth chart...would it be worth keeping him??

Polk - Pop Douglas - Baker - Bourne and K.J. Osborn maybe Juju?? Thornton or Bourne need to have world beater TC and PS to even be considered very competitive WR room.
A good QB can obviously get the most from Ju this late in his career.

Is it possible that might occur? Yes, but it's not probable.

Wozzy Aiyuk is Great in his own right.

He's 6 feet tall and runs a 4.5... anyone suggesting trading high draft capital and paying him a top of the market deal should have their college degree rescinded.

Aiyuk have improved every year and you call him a product of a system ok. Wozzy you're sleeping on Aiyuk.

Exactly right... great offense.

Juju had 1400 yards receiving... it didn't magically make him Randy Moss.
Juju was a much more explosive WR then.. once the injuries starting piling up he couldn't plant like he wants to he said.. even in mini camp Curran reported that Juju still is laborering and has no burst.. just feels like he's a injury settlement agreement. We have better options right now..

Yep. And Aiyuk gets the opposing teams best CB.. I can bet you he draws gonzo when we see 9ners..

And where did he "improve every year?"

Oh yeah, in Shanahan's proven system.

Aiyuk is Juju at 26 years of age... good, but not great. Not worth what it will take to acquire him.

IF Juju regains some of his YAC ability from three years ago I cool with him if he's that slow molasses Juju from last year let's move on.
