Next offseason the cap gets tight for the 49ers and they have to pay Purdy soon. They clearly have letting one of these high priced WR's go on their mind because they drafted Pearsall in the first... he seems like a natural replacement for Aiyuk.

The 49ers are waiting for some team to get stupid and do their job for them... nobody should trade high draft capital for this guy, if you wait he might be available as a free agent next offseason and there are better WR's likely available.

It's hard to act nonchalant and insist you want a first round draft pick when other teams know you are broke and need to pay your young QB. I'll take Aiyuk for a 5th or 6th and even then, I'm not paying him a top of the market deal.... he's not as good as Jefferson, Amon Ra, AJ Brown or any of the guys at the top.

Sure, you would trade a 5th for him and pay him $15M a year. How generous! You do understand that neither the 49ers nor Aijuk's agent would even consider answering your calls.

What you are really saying is that you have no interest in signing him. That's fine. I might say that I wouldn't pay $20M for deebo. That would men nothing other than I had no real interest.

It is one of those situations where he thrives as a #2 but is an unknown as a #1. He's #2 in SF but would be #1 here. Juju Smith Schuster went from 1,400 yards as a #2 behind Antonio Brown to 500 yards as a #1.

Ben was out for 15 games that season and JuJu missed 5 games to injury.

JuJu did not click with Mason Rudolph. His catch rate dipped to 60%, but shot up to 75% the following season with Ben.

Juju can make a case for us carrying 6 WR's if he lives up to his current contract. The sad thing is he would be considered 6th on our depth chart...would it be worth keeping him??

Polk - Pop Douglas - Baker - Bourne and K.J. Osborn maybe Juju?? Thornton or Bourne need to have world beater TC and PS to even be considered very competitive WR room.

I believe it's the first 6 i think? Unless they IR him with a designation to return during the season. I rather him come back 100%.. we know KB can ball.. we need to let polk & baker get run. We need to start creating our own play makers at WR..

Thanks I am sure Thornton and Boutte are hoping for either possibility. Their only hope to make this roster.

Yes, I like Boutte.. he can play as well.. he will probably end up on the PS.. beucase polk& baker, KJ are our play makers especially while KB is out. Thornton is going to have to have the camp of his life.

I think we have a lot of WR’s like Aiyuk already; Juju, Polk, Baker, Osborn, Boutte… why add another “good” not “great” weapon.

If they improve the passing attack with better blocking, QB play, scheme…. the Pat’s could have some 1000 yard WR’s also. Aiyuk is a solid player, but he’s not special or unique.
