Not sure the credibility or if this is just speculation. But I’d be very for it. Still very productive and turning 29 this year.
 
Its going to take more than Boutte to get him. He had 9.5 sacks last year.
 
Highsmith is pretty good. I'd think Steelers will want a little more Boutte than that.
 
He also carries a $20M cap hit for them this year though. Not just apples to apples talent/production comparison.
Yup, have to consider contract $ as well, brings their value much closer together.
And here’s a thought, if we rented Highsmith for this year and he was productive, he will sign something of decent value next offseason. His FA loss may factor in a higher pick than just trading Boutte straight up to someone.
 
Highsmith got my attention early in his career as he had an insane bust off the LOS. Problem was, he had a hard time finishing. Aside from 2022, that has been the case most of his career.
