Yup, have to consider contract $ as well, brings their value much closer together.
And here’s a thought, if we rented Highsmith for this year and he was productive, he will sign something of decent value next offseason. His FA loss may factor in a higher pick than just trading Boutte straight up to someone.

Highsmith got my attention early in his career as he had an insane bust off the LOS. Problem was, he had a hard time finishing. Aside from 2022, that has been the case most of his career.

Would be great to get him, agree with everyone that it will cost more than Boutte. Cleaning out his locker doesn't mean he is coming here though, just somewhere.

It might not cost much more than boutte. with Pittsburgh having 2 other edge players making 25m and 40m per they are kind of backed into a corner now with highsmith and don’t have alot of leverage in any trade talks. They pretty much have to unload him, if not just for cap reasons dude will probably be checked out until he gets a raise or is traded. Rumors are hes already cleared out his locker.

$15M a year for 2026 and 2027 is affordable for us.

I think that should do it as well. And i think it makes alot of sense from our side especially if boutte is asking to be dealt.

Im not sure if im interpreting the rules correct but i think wed be on the hook for 14.5m and 15.5m cap hits (someone please correct this if im wrong). I think thats very fair for 2 years of highsmith.

Yeah, I don't want to move Boutte... with that said, I'd dtrongly have to consider this now the Brown trade has been finalized...

Pure player for player swap, i'm in... would not give up anything else except maybe a late round pick swap, 5th or so... Thats it... Boutte is more valuable than some here seem to think...
