If we can get this guy of the street instead of giving up an alleged 1st rounder for AJ, I’d seriously consider it. Should only take a few baskets of fruit, beetles & some grasshoppers; save the draft capital. One question though: What’s his 3-cone?..

Ask the Australians what kind of headache he can be in the locker room.

Eh, I think Vrabel can handle his antics. Besides, he won’t cost much & if he can’t acclimate to the culture, we can simply cut bait & hand him over to the Maryland State Police. We need all the talent we can muster up with this “tough” schedule..

I want to see a season with AJB Maye and Doubs, but part of me would relish the Pats telling Howie to **** himself and good luck with another season of a disgruntled AJB, lack of chemistry with Hurts and a crowed WR corp.

#take what you can get, Howard.

The Seahawks are apparently desirous of a Myles Garret deal, the Patriots should make it clear that they will go in for Garrett if Roseman doesn't deal Brown to them this week. Garrett undoubtedly knows and probably likes Vrabel from his year there, and that would give them a foot n the door for him, and put Roseman in a real bind.

Neither of those teams were coming off a 14 win season and a Super Bowl.

No, but they were coming off decent seasons before hitting a bump the following season... They also took advantage of their draft status after their down year to re-stock instead of tear-down before they returned to a more-successful following season... My point is, any top-two-round pick in 2027 should be Off The Table just in case we suffer a Super Bowl Losers hangover and stumble this season because of the immensely tougher schedule... AJB & His Baggage is simply no longer worth gutting the team-building process at a critical juncture of its development.

Garrett was also effusive in his praise of Maye after they played last season.

It seemed apparent he would love to be on the Pats.

I agree. Knowing how much you hate to part with 1st round picks would you give 2 for Garrett?

I can't belie e we are only 2 days away from AJB Tuesday, I would.n't be surprised if nothing happens on that day, The NFL DOES like to build the suspense. They are nothing if not drama queens. Anything to build the suspense and add eyeballs to the league.
Right on pace for my target of 164 pages by 6/9. Not too late for others to add their guesses, even though I made my guess over a month ago (I think) and I'm not even sure 164 was the exact number... but it was around that)

Why not tomorrow

I really don’t want to give up a 1st for this guy. Boutte and a 2nd.

It will be funny if they trade a 2028 first for him (with something like a 3rd coming back) and he goes on to be extremely productive this year, and again next year or even more so, and they become title contenders yet again... In hindsight trading a first round pick basically 3 drafts away from now would look pretty good at that point.

I realize to many "a first is a first" but the time component is important. A first in 2028 is not the same as a first in 2026. The common logic subtracts a round for each year that passes, so a 2028 first is equal to a 2026 third. While I don't think it's really quite that simple in reality, there's some merit. A 2026 third would've gotten you a player this season who could start, depending on the position. A 2028 first is probably a quality starter, but you won't have him til 3 years from now. In the NFL, typically you want more immediate help as it is a very "what have you done for me lately" league.

Tomorrow:

I would consider it.

More than Brown, Garrett would definitely elevate the Pats to another tier.

He was unstoppable against the Pats, but he is pretty much unstoppable against anyone.

I don't want to give the first for Brown either, but if he comes in and lifts up the offense the way Diggs did for Allen, and it raises up the rest of the offense then it will be worth it. And I hate the idea of giving up 2 first round picks, but Garrett is special, and I would make that deal. I think the Patriots braintrust believes they can win a Lombardi by making the right big move, so I'll live with whatever they decide, because they have earned that trust imo.
