This is a kinda annoying because Vinatieri really deserves to not wait longer for a guy who debuted years after he left. He's also the GOAT kicker and was probably the most important non Brady player of the early dynasty. But he'll probably lose out because Gronk's a bigger name and his position. Which sucks because he already got snubbed from first ballot because he was a kicker

Señor Yo Soy Fiesta had Brady to make him great...

Adam worked with the Special Teams O Line, the back up QB or punter as a holder, etc... and he got into the HoF as a Kicker... thats a pretty big chip to overcome in terms of the goat arguments between the two...

while both positions are under appreciated by the selection committee, there are currently 3 kickers vs 10 tight ends in the hall... thats a hard thing to overlook...

I don't think Belichick wanted Vinatieri any more. His kickoffs, especially in Foxborough, had become a problem. That said I don't think choosing another team removes players from consideration.
