Do you think we’re done in FA?

It just occurred to me that the late lamented Tonga was signed AFTER camp started, so there are always so late "not moving the needle" player that is signed late and ends up being a contributor if not a starter. This year after 6/1 we MIGHT actually see a true needle mover if AJB trade gets done. As for compensation I think we'd have to give them a 27 one and maybe a 5th in 28. Originally I wouldn't give up a one, but given that we get a free year we might have to up it to a one NEXT year

And YES, Ninko was a solid if unspectacular player for us for a bunch of years and an example of a GREAT late FA signing.
Tonga was one of the first Free Agents the Pats signed with Vrabel at the helm.

Ninkovich was an above average player for the Pats. Agreed that he was a great signing..

Stay with your original idea. I’d easily give up a 1 this year but the 2027 draft is a gold mine of projected talent. It would be pretty sad not having that pick unless Brown played at elite level.

'Big' contract-wise? Yes. Any further moves will likely be of the 1-year "prove it" type of deals. Anything bigger than that will either be the result of a trade or a surprise June 1st cut.

I'm kinda surprised that the Pats haven' re-signed Munford yet. Of all their FA, he was the one I thought would be a priority re-signing.

I would expect the Pats to add at least 2 more edge Free Agents. Whether they are current FA or UDFA remains to be seen.

Not sure if there is a bottom of the roster Corner out there who can play both inside and outside still available.

Wouldn't be surprised if they add another Veteran at guard, but that will be after the draft in all likelihood.

Ditto. It seemed the team liked his RT / LT versatility and his attitude when he came back for the 2nd time. It takes 2 to sign a contract.

Post-draft (and June 1) and before camp is where the real GM money is made.

Is Maxx Crosby or AJ Brown going to be here before the draft? No.

Probably not, but they still have plenty left to sign Gonzalez and one of the big names. That's really good management of their resources.

Really interested to see what Marcus byrant becomes for this OL.. is Cadean Wallace still on the roster?

Ken - Pats have 69 players under contract. OvertheCap has us at 70, but they still have Tavai listed. With 11 draft picks currently, that leaves 10 slots for other FA or UDFA.
Kind of makes you wonder about AI. When I first asked it about the number of current Pats signees, it told me 55. When I replied "that sounds low", it kind of apologized and came back with that 64 number. And now you tell me THAT number was off. Kind of makes you wonder about these AI bots

I agree with your assessment of the 27 draft, but it seems like there can BE no trade until after this draft and I don't know if it's legal to trade a pick in April for a player that won't be available until June, and if it's a first, I wouldn't do more than that.

I felt that Munford looked better than Bryant last year (granted we didn't see Bryant much). He's only 26, he played for Josh in LV. I'd like to see him re-signed.
I would as well.. as Bryant is a young and developing player.. I truly get the sense that Vrabel is really impressed with how the young guys all over the roster have been developing.. Mumford is likely weighing his options in FA as he should..

The problem I see with AI is that it simply does a quick media search and has a poor mechanism for checking its facts.
It also does the same with opinion questions, and its preferred source is the one that tale about it the most, which creates bias.

If you had known the answer was 69 before you asked and then challenged the answer eventually it Williams have found the correct data, and then apologized.

It’s hard to trust anything for AI unless you question it and get it to do all the work, which kind of makes it more dangerous than useful.

Yeah.. They leave a lot to be desired. That's one of the reasons I started tracking the numbers on the Roster Transaction page.

I would like another edge rusher.
Joey Bosa is still available right?
He’s only had 5 sacks last season but also 5 forced fumbles. Turnovers are valuable.
How much would he cost and would you want him for Patriots?

Bosa had a solid year in Buffalo.. but he's an older player and probably best he's a rotational player 3rd down rusher at this point in his career.. wouldn't mind him in that role.. he can still attack the ball so he's valuable. 1 year 6 million I'm thinking...

I suspect that they're looking to the draft for EDGE and probably won't sign anyone else until they know what they have in the draft.

Agreed if anything I see a veteran like clowney or Bosa being brought in for depth and leadership on the edge..

Maybe if he goes back on the juice.
He was off it last year and he was terrible.
Only drawback is his injury risk skyrockets.
