NFL News Maxx Crosby to Ravens (Update - Ravens Backing Out of the Deal)

Share the latest NFL news from around the league here.
The “outrage” is because most people, including me, feel they reneged because the signed another player and they are full of **** when they say it had anything to do with his injury status.
If what you say is true, they still did nothing wrong. They agreed to a trade that would take place in the future after Medicals if they still wanted to make the trade.
What they consider acceptable medical risk is impacted by who else they have at the position. If I have no one I’ll take a bigger risk than if I have a guy who is very similar but 100% health.

That's because you're the only one who doesn't see they didn't renegade on the medical.

You're the only one who bought that story.

DeCosta said losing center Tyler Linderbaum to the Raiders opened the possibility of adding both Hendrickson and Crosby.

“I didn’t really look at him as like, ‘Oh, we’ll do this because of that,’” DeCosta said. “It was really more, ‘How do we get better as a football team?’ In terms of Trey, I think we came to a point probably after we lost Tyler, where as we’re trying to find the best way for us to get better as a football team, Trey kind of made a lot of sense as a possible guy to look it. So, we started some discussions with he and his agent, thinking that potentially we could have two pass rushers on the defensive line, on both sides of the line.

“Again, I think it was disappointing to us, and probably in a way, potentially disappointing probably to Trey as well.”
I totally believe this. I also believe Bill Polian when he said he had a 1st round grade on Tom Brady.

I heard the interview with the BAL GM.

I think that he very much wanted Crosby.

He got lots of medical opinions, including with the league's top expert on this type of surgery.

I think that the rejection took longer than normal because he kept hoping that the conclusion might change with more information.

My take is that I'm happy this episode showed why the "legal tampering period" is such a bad idea.

How?

In normal times, the announcement would have been made that the teams agreed to the trade, subject to medical approval.

Teams made commitments based on that announcement. They could have waited until the deal was finalized.

DAL wanted Crosby. LV might have taken their deal with the appropriate announcement. Some of the same doctors would have been consulted and DAL would have backed off. It is the DAL doctor who is the league's top expert on this surgery.
==========
The bottom line is that everyone listed to the agent's representations. IMO, Crosby is damaged goods and LV won't trade him until he can actually pass a physical.

Right, but if it all happened after the signing window opened it's almost certain that Hendrickson is gone, yet it all happened before so there he was.

Let's say Crosby's injury keeps him out for the next 4 months. That still gives him a month or two to rehab before the regular season begins. Is that worth the Patriots risking say a 3rd round pick for him?

Raiders are not giving him away for a 3rd round pick. But if they were, than I'd seriously consider it.

With that said, the Pats didn't lose the Super Bowl because of a lack of an Edge player of Crosby's caliber. The defense was rattling their offense, but eventually cracked because they were constantly on the field. It would've been a different ball game had the O-line played better throughout the playoffs. Seattle is very overrated.

Why can't I come up with **** this funny????

For all of you who claimed that Crosby didn't ACTUALLY have a physical with B-More and that Baltimore just got cold feet, Crosby says that he DID. What's your excuses NOW?

Except that Crosby ACTUALLY had a physical on March 10th with the team. One of the doctors raised concerns..

Guess YOU are the one full of ****.

The TRADE had nothing to do with the legal tampering period. It occurred BEFORE that. Maybe you should ask CROSBY why it took him so long to get to Baltimore to have his physical. He didn't get there until March 10th. 4 days after the trade was announced.

How is it "almost certain that Hendrickson is gone" if the trade occurs after the start of FA Signing? That's pure speculation on your part. Baltimore could still have made the trade and then backed out because of the medical findings that their doctor felt was concerning.

No ****, sherlock. I know what happened. I never said he didn't have the physical, ******.

I stated my theory and I'm sticking by it. As are countless other fans. Why this upsets your delicate sensibilities so much remains as yet a mystery.
