Especially since cutting Jennings seems like a cap clearing move. What are they clearing cap for?
And why leave it to now? If they were going to release Jennings, why not do it earlier? What has changed?I'm a bit confused by this move. I like addition by subtraction, but this seems like subtraction.
They may have tried to trade him to the Ravens for a true Triple-Headed Monster Pass Rush but now...And why leave it to now? If they were going to release Jennings, why not do it earlier? What has changed?
That wouldn't really kick in for a couple of years.Gonzo's mega-deal?
Worst EDGE room in the NFL?
Two things need to be true:
1. There's a plan to make at least two additions.
or
2. They're really high on Ponder and Swinson.
Tavai actually sucks though.Like others here, I'm confused and suspect something has to be coming.
Chaisson signed for low-mid money elsewhere.
Jennings wasn't expensive.
Tavai wasn't expensive.
Don't get me wrong: I think Jones is better than either of the edge guys - best traits of both and he's bigger and more violent.
But we've watched a couple of top LBs go for middling money. Something's coming.
I don't agree with that - too strong. But yeah, that Pats' LB corps could be upgraded. I'm still stunned they didn't go hard after Lloyd or Chenal (I'm biased - loved Lloyd's game an Chenal was a binkie in the draft)...but they've earned a bit of trust, yes?Tavai actually sucks though.
me too. thought he played well. The team is certainly not sitting on its laurels.Damn, i like jennings but hopefully that means they are setting up for a big move at edge, just who?

Not counting on Landry and SwinsonWhat do we think about Swinson? They liked him enough to not let him get poached, but he still couldn't get on the field.
Training camp is going to be huge for him. Let’s see if he makes a sophomore leap. What do we think about Swinson? They liked him enough to not let him get poached, but he still couldn't get on the field.
Aside from Chaisson, we were told very early on that Vrabel was going to get rid of of BB's "tweener" and "entitled guys". This is the 2nd wave of that.Like others here, I'm confused and suspect something has to be coming.

I agree…they didn’t let go of Jennings, Tavai and Chaisson with no plan in mind. There has to be a move coming besides just the draft and our current players stepping up.Like others here, I'm confused and suspect something has to be coming.
