Player Signing Pats Sign Dre'Mont Jones 3/$39 million

IMO, da Jete is very much a **** show starting from the top too, and Saleh showed he is not HC material while he was there. He showed lousy decision making in general and bad clock management in particular, and I don't think these are things you can delegate. He already says he'll be calling his own plays on defense which IMO shows he likes to micro-manage and can't delegate. I think his run in TN will be an even worse **** show. They'll over-draft for defense and be a sub-500 team. Apparently he's quite good at interviews and a rah-rah kind of guy, but that only gets you so far.
McDonald called his own defensive plays in SEA. That didn't work out well for us.

God they beat our ass. Almost to the point where at times the vibes felt like “**** it, we’re just happy to be here”.

The point by the poster was micromanaging/inability to delegate.
Aaron Glenn was over his head without play calling duties.
And he isn’t a very good play caller.
This is a big mistake for him.

Getting back to Jones, I'm happy we got an edge guy who can give us a consistent power rush off the edge, and is big enough to work the interior on stunts. Now we need a fast twitch guy, so I wouldn't mind us bring back Chassion too, even though he's gonna cost in the 15-18MM range or about triple what he earned last season.

Halfhour before the game some reporter said THAT WAS THE VIBE IN THE LOCKERROOM (at least a portion thereof, ). My first thought was which group?, if I had to pick….WR group, ….see how that played out.

Ravens have backed out of the Crosby trade, wonder how thos will affect this signing, since it's not official yet.

If Crosby is damaged goods physically the Raiders are ****ed because no one will give em much and he can’t play there now.

Here’s uncle Mike rolling up with a second round pick no questions asked.

It’s less about what we would give up, it’s more what we would pay him.

They'll be lucky to get a bag of footballs, let alone a 5th round puck if Crosby is damaged goods. The team trading for Crosby would take on the injury liability. Show me a team willing to do that..

I mean this is media so take it with a grain of salt

Biggest thing to me, based on this, is not to count our chickens with Jones until he signs the deal tomorrow. As Peliserro notes, the Ravens are still looking for a pass rush and have the cap space now; they might be trying to flip someone.

BAL knew that Crosby had surgery 2 months ago. This is BS and reflects on BAL and future dealings with BAL.

NO ONE knows whether Crosby will start on PUP or when he will be productive. We took this kind of risk when we signed DIggs. Most of us were amazed that he was as strong as fast.

These are completely different situations.
Diggs had a complete ACL replacement. Crosby had a torn meniscus that needed more than a basic trim. Completely different scenarios.

The ACL is a 12-18month return to full health timeline. The Meniscus is a 3-4 month return to full health timeline.

Doing some research, this is what I found:

Crosby had surgery on his left knee in 2023.
The left knee gave Crosby issues all during the 2023 and 2024 seasons.
Crosby had surgery on his left ankle during the 2024 season after suffering a high-ankle sprain.
Crosby tore the meniscus in his left knee during the 2025 season and that is what he had surgery on in January 2026.

(Note, the following is MY SPECULATION)
With the number of injuries and surgeries on Crosby's left leg, it would be completely negligent of DeCosta to NOT have the Ravens Team Doctor and Team Orthopedist give Crosby an exam including an MRI. I think it's very plausible that they found something that could be chronic or degenerative. Or possibly something even worse. With Crosby clearly wanting off the Raiders, you'd think that he'd be out and contradicting any potential hint that he won't be ready for the start of the season. Yet there has been nothing from him or his agent. The silence is somewhat damning.

The Dre’mont Jones signing is interesting.

Vrabel absolutely had a type of Edge on the 2025 Pats.
Chaisson 255 pounds.
Landry 252.
Ponder 261.
Swinson 255.
Traded away Keion White at 288 for very little return.

Then goes out and grabs Jones immediately who was listed at 280 for 2025.
