I would not expect dancing in the streets, but I think this is fine. It ends the "all your eggs in one basket" bind under which the only alternative to getting AJ Brown was represented as beiing the End of Western Civilization (we were told). I think AJ Brown will cost far too much, particularly in draft picks and that paying that level and sort of price for him would have been foolish, given where we are in the rebuild. I hope and expect that the team will take a flyer on one or two WR prospects-with-upside in the draft, because the absolutely best way to fill any position is to draft and develop. So again, this is not an exciting wowzer signing, but it is a smart deal and one which will hopefully end all the desperate handwringing over the fact we have not mortgaged our future behind the delusion that AJ Brown is younger and better than he actually is.
