Player Signing Romeo Doubs Signs

The signing makes sense. Isn't as expensive as some are making it out to be; I think some still think we're in 2010.

I like it.

Anyone thinking this guy is a #1 WR is a fool, solid 2, prob not even an upgrade over Diggs. Especially Diggs prob being even healthier this upcoming season.
And a year old and facing legal trouble.
Who thinks he's a number 1?
He's being paid between 17-20, not sure what the official number is.
That puts his salary in with the likes of:
Jeudy
Meyers
Saheed
Wan'dale
Kupp

The contract is commensurate with his production.

He's the chain-mover they needed when they cut Diggs. The 7-yard hitch guy on 1st down. The guy that will put a headfake on some dogshit CB.

We're going to be very, very happy with this signing, I predict.
Absolutely Tommy... lots to like about this pick up.. the Organization made great move with this pick up.. I like he's currently the 2nd biggest WR on the roster behind Mack Hollins.. Doubs can run every route.

I wanted the team to keep Diggs for another season but I’m ok with Doubs because of ability and age. Diggs was better than Doubs in 2025…but that might not be the case in 2026.

I'm really excited to see what he can do in this offense.

Why wouldn’t it be the case considering Diggs will be even healthier having more time from the injury, also being another year in the system. There’s no reason to think Doubs will be better.

What's not to get. You stated that they needed BOTH then went on to claim that "Doubs is that guy" without clarifying anything.

Just drop it and move on .
This is like if I said “This movie needs a professional wrestler but it also needs a high quality narrator. Morgan Freeman is that guy. The last production they did had David Attenborough but he has aged out” and you came to me arguing that I never clarified whether I meant Morgan Freeman was supposed to be the narrator or the professional wrestler.

Diggs will be 33 yo this year….Doubs will be 26 this year. WR’s peak around 27-29 yo.

I would not expect dancing in the streets, but I think this is fine. It ends the "all your eggs in one basket" bind under which the only alternative to getting AJ Brown was represented as beiing the End of Western Civilization (we were told). I think AJ Brown will cost far too much, particularly in draft picks and that paying that level and sort of price for him would have been foolish, given where we are in the rebuild. I hope and expect that the team will take a flyer on one or two WR prospects-with-upside in the draft, because the absolutely best way to fill any position is to draft and develop. So again, this is not an exciting wowzer signing, but it is a smart deal and one which will hopefully end all the desperate handwringing over the fact we have not mortgaged our future behind the delusion that AJ Brown is younger and better than he actually is.

I too wanted Diggs to remain.. but then I started to look deeper.. the playoffs really told us something.. maybe the version we saw in the regular season he was maximized and really fell short in the postseason when he was needed most.

I clearly hope to be proven wrong but Im not impressed. Diggs was exactly what I wanted last year and he delivered. I was hoping for Pierce or Brown after releasing Diggs.

I’m of the strong belief that undetectable deer antler wears off around January - February. Older players need to keep that energy and intensity.

He also has very good hands, when you watch his tape there are a lot of balls that are behind him or above him that he just snatches out of the air effortlessly. We all know Maye has some balls that go off the target on him at times, especially early in games, so this may help counter that.

It’s paying a premium on a guy who best case scenario will get 800 yards receiving which would be a career year. Sorry but how is that any better than keeping the status quo? That’s good for a borderline 2 or high end 3. If you get a real number 1 you can live with it as a contender. But if he’s going to be your top guy, you’re in trouble.
Less than 20 a year is not premium.
