Proud of this team!

I agree with a lot of sentiments here, even as they seem in conflict.

I'm proud of how far they came in a one-year leap, and I hope this becomes more a floor performance than a flash in the pan season. After all, that is unanswered after the SB. I think this team's for real and Seattle was just much more for real. The O-line, esp the left side, lost it in the trenches, and Maye couldn't make the magic to both correct for his own sins and "put the team on his back." He's not good enough yet for that kind of ask. Most guys never are, though ultimately, I believe he'll be one of the special ones who can.

Of course I'm disappointed too.

And I'm not really wondering what simple scapegoat could fix something. No, we got beaten soundly. The defense kept it close and forced them to take 3s not 7s deep into the game. This is an elite D looking forward, and I can't wait to see what happens with another year under Campbell's belt (and possibly another off-season of healing, if that is an issue.) Maye's next step is to be able to get some kind of spark going in the most challenging games -- that will include audibleing away from deep throws or the coaches not dialing them up until the blitz costs them (e.g. short passes once the screen stops working.) Your 4-second downfield throw is not going to develop when you pocket collapses after 2.

Anyway... that's not griping. It's idle thoughts until September. Mainly, a big thank you for bringing this team back into contention. Now justify all my trash talking to Bills fans and put the division on lockdown again starting next season!

IDAF what you are. Go drink the Kool-Aid and bask in the glow of a SB appearance. Titles are all that matter.

What a spoiled brat loser. Titles are not all that matter. People matter. Players matter. Fan base matters. Coaches matter. Drake made it to the SB in his second season. Josh Allen hasn't after 8 seasons. He would give anything to be where we just were. That matters. Ya we lost to a better team. Just grow up already.

Only thing about Maye that was troubling was his body language. He didn’t come off as confident and I didn’t notice a fire in him. I wish we saw more of him on the sideline hyping up the team. He needs to find that dawg in him

I believe that last night will end up being the day Maye went from boy to man. I think he took the loss really hard and will be blaming himself for the loss, even though it's far from all on him. I think Maye, Campbell, Henderson and many others will dedicate themselves completely to their offseason program. I think we will see much better performances from all of their rookies and Maye next season.
Yes. You can be proud of the team but very disappointed and concerned with last night's performance on the big stage.
Let's face it, they had a golden opportunity and did not handle it well.
Seattle is a better team for sure..but the coaching and key performances in the SB are not something you can take pride in.

They were crushed and dominated on the offensive side of the ball.
They could not even make a competitive game of it despite a strong D performance.

For all the people who say we were playing with house money...yes BUT it still stings when you lose all your winnings in a single hand and go back to square one.

On the offensive side of the ball we are back at square one. Not something to feel good about,

I thought you said you wouldn't post here after the last game?

Good thread Busta, unfortunately the crybaby fans seem to be ruling the day here. There are times when I think this is the worst fan base in professional sports. So many ****ing crybabies.

Now I get it, you just said you were leaving to get sympathy, now that it's actually time to go you will renege on it.

Watch this and tell me how proud you are.

I always thought the goal of playing sports was titles. If you suck enough that you can't thats part of the process. But to get to a title game, and have you QB sucks in the game....thats nothing to be proud of.

I am not the one of slammed someone else's post btw. I call balls and strikes is all. Scoreboard is all that matters,

It is what it is. Maye had a great season, but he started getting worse each playoff game. The poor play of the OL didn't help. Many wanted to point to the snow two weeks ago, but Maye and the OL were awful against Denver. Had it not been for the Stidham fumble, there's a good chance they only score 3 points that day.

Seahawks badly exploited a weakness and made the plays on offense which was why they won.

Boston fans are the worst fanbase in sports, but look at it this way. We have the forum back to the real fans for a few months and can enjoy the good ones.

Go back to the Jets.

Go back to the Jets.
Been here much longer than you and decidedly not a Jets fan. You are more of one than I am. They'd be stoked and talking for 50 years about losing in a SB.

We got to the Super Bowl in year one of a rebuild. That's something to be proud of.

What a load of ****. This team went from the worst team in football to the Super Bowl. If you can't respect that as an accomplishment then you really don't know ****. If all that matters is who wins the championship then don't bother with the season, just watch the Super Bowl. This team gave it everything they had all year they blew away everyone's expectations and now fans are acting like they are losers because they didn't win it all. By your logic's Brady is a loser because he only wonn7 rings, the rest of the time he was just another loser. I get crybabies like Sam and PF2, and Thunderhead talking **** because they can't handle a loss, but I honestly thought you were a hell of a lot smarter than this take.

I'm not saying the season as a whole was a disappointment. The game, the SB was not something I would be proud of. The defense played their asses off and Maye...had he just been an average QB...hell had he been Sam Darnold..they would have won the SB. It was there for the taking. My point was the attitude of being happy they made the SB. I'm happy they made the SB after a 3-14 season. I just am not happy with how Maye performed after watching some film.

If you lose the SB it should always suck and no one, players or fans should be content with just making it. Thats the sense I am getting with a lot around here. Kinda just happy they made it.

Losing the Super Bowl did suck, but it was a great season. I'm not going to put it all on Maye. From the first snap he was under immense pressure, and imo his receivers simply were not getting open. That put Maye in a situation where he either threw it into traffic with a high risk of turnovers, or holding onto it and paying the price for that. I also thought MacDaniels game plan was absolute dogshit. He should have thrown it out at the half and gone no huddle the rest of the game.

The bottom line for me is that they seriously outperformed all expectations and their future is really bright. They are way ahead of schedule, and are true contenders already. They have more work to do but they are going to be in the hunt for years to come. And what real fans need to come to grips with is the fact that if you consistently play in Super Bowls you are going to lose some. Even Brady dropped 3 of them, it's just a fact of life. So while last night was disappointing I'm really proud of their performance this season, and I'm looking forward to the future. Vrabel brought in the right guys, they will work their asses off to get back to the Bowl.

I agree with most but I'm still on the Maye thing. Sucks for me because I'm a huge Maye guy. He will be alright and I don't have much concern for the future with him. Vrabel isn't a dummy and neither is the staff but man they made some weird decisions yesterday. Not putting Henderson back for kick returns was one of them. Had a return, got almost 40 yards. Would have been nice to have that earlier.

Road will be tougher, much tougher actually and they need a lot of help. I have them at 10-7 before FA and the draft. Hell they get 4 wins from the Dolphins and Jets and probably split Buffalo. So thats half the win total right there.

I agree with much of that, but I think they will be in the hunt for the Super Bowl again next season. I expect Maye, in his 2nd year in MacDaniels offense, and all the rookies to take a big step forward this offseason. The schedule will be tougher, but they will be up to it. 12-5, final 4 again. Who knows from there, winning it all is really tough, but they will get their share.
