Campbell? Lol I wont feel bad roasting him for a while until he plays again of course
Campbell couldn't protect his dinner plate last night never mind Drake Maye.

14 pressures has to be some kind of record.

I really hope we don't have another Robert Gallery here.

WC Definitely needs to hit the gym. His 320lbs includes a lot of fat
There’s something to be said for old man strength and simply learning his craft so the game slows down.

Either way with his wingspan I’d love to see them draft a massive left tackle and slide him and Wilson further inside.

Big, massive, strong, athletic… that’s the line we want.

PFF is a joke. They don't know how to calculate who a line stunt was a pressure against.
Jared Wilson couldn't jam the stunts and left Campbell trying to block two people way more often than not. Every time Wilson was left one-on-one he got destroyed.

I'm more disappointed of his not talking to the media afterwards
You sucked yesterday and chose to have your worst game as a pro in the most important game.
It's fine it happens and hopefully it makes you stronger just face the music

TBH that may have been a coaching decision to protect the kid

"hey, we know you sucked it up for the team and played on a bad wheel, go get treatment and get out of here, no media for you tonight"

they know he was going to get crucified, they know he was playing hurt, they didn't want him to be subjected to the onslaught.....get the knee fixed, get ready for next year

who knows, but i can see it

Hes not an old man I think his knee is still bothering him, but i wouldn't have a problem with your scenario. bradbury is no prize either. Move Wilson to center and WC to lt guard.

well the team didnt do him any favors if that's the case cause he getting crucified way more for the lack of not talking to the media lol

Not that it is better but I think the 14 pressures came from NextGen Stats and not PFF.

No, he’s young playing against old guys, that’s my point.

Bradbury, Onwenu and Moses have been great all season. We can’t complain about them, and I’m actually wondering if it was dumb not to keep Ben Brown in at left guard just to have another vet in there. They seemed to make less mental errors when the vets were there, even if they were less talented. Shades of Onwenu’s second year when BB kept Karras in the lineup at guard.

Young guys need development.

Yes. Wilson was terrible, but both of them looked like boys playing grown men.

Shared from Reddit, 3 X all pro Willie Anderson comments on Campbell:

Anderson: The long arms short arms debate online about this kid #WillCampbell is interesting. All long arms do is allow you to be later with your hands. That's the advantage us long arm guys have but it doesn't guarantee success! Lot of awful long arm Left and Right tackles. I see the problem With Will is a technique issue that having short arms don't help with that technique. He has to first master better sets vs. different alignment. I've watched 4 games this year and you can tell he's worried so he's over compensating. He has to learn this offseason to say "Fawk it" I can block this guy with perfect sets! That college BS of vertical setting 90% of the time will get you wore out in this league! He's also a floater! When he's square and stops he does a solid job! Need faster hands and maybe use high hand low hand my technique "The club" it would fit him perfectly! #WillieAndersonLinemanAcademy #Patriots

Anderson was also asked if Campbell should be moved to guard:

Anderson: You gotta give em another year and off season. His ability and correct teaching training will be huge this offseason. He needs to train skills full speed with guys in front of him

who really cares about the media, though?

give the ma day and they'll be *****ing about the next created controversy

Some of that also was Drake Maye not noticing DB’s crowding the line and recognizing obvious pressures.

Seattle sent a lot of safety and corner blitzes… that’s on Drake to identify that and adjust. The left side of the line is catching a lot of heat here, but I’d say it was on those two, Drake and Josh.

It was a team effort loss, between a bunch of really young players and a coordinator who did nothing to help them.

Great post. Did Marrone try to teach him these tips?

Even before the injury I didn’t think WC was having a good year. He was serviceable against bad teams, but against good DE’s he was bad. He wasn’t good on the field, and he doesn’t pass the eye test. 1st pass of the game he got driven back right into Maye, and it just got worse.

Physically he isn’t a LT. It sucks but I don’t see him becoming a good LT because he’s not built for it.

I thought adding JM was a great move but after watching the offense during the regular season and especially last night. (Of course the o-line play was so bad i don't know if they could carried out the plan) If he left for another HC position it wouldn't bother me.

In 2024, I thought that the Patriots' offensive line was one of the worst I've ever seen. This year they improved somewhat, but a lot of work is needed. Not sure about the two rookies, but they need to spend some serious cap space and day 1-2 draft picks on the OL.

I think this is a good point in why you can't just take PFF rankings as gospel. But no need to get caught up on the specific "14 pressures" number. We can all obviously see he was trash last night.

You're right that Wilson was a huge liability last night and quite frankly he has been all year. They have to assess if this is a "growing pains" thing or if he might just not be good. The fact that they didn't bench him for Ben Brown. who they liked enough to extend, makes me think they see potential worth developing there. if they thought the guy just sucked they probably pull him at some point this year but they didn't. Maybe he's more suited for center where there's more tandem blocking than one-on-ones.

I thought Bradbury was solid this year. A lot of people want Lindebaum which sign me up for because he's a great player. But I wouldn't be opposed to trying to find a stud LG this year either through FA or the draft, give Campbell another year at LT with a full offseason of conditioning/strength training and then let Wilson compete with Bradbury for the center spot. If he can't win it, he and Brown can be the interior OL backups.

He is very good against bad to average defenses. He is not good vs great defenses without Tom Brady. And that's a huge problem.

Lowe can’t be that bad, I don’t understand why we didn’t try Ben brown and Lowe to spell Wilson and Campbell. You know I’ve been calling for Campbells benching since he came back from injury, he has not played well at all.
