I'm not so sure. I see a very real possibility that the Patriots go after Darnold early and often and get him seeing ghosts and turtling under the pressure.

I don’t think Seattle can run inside on the Pats, outside runs are their bread and butter, so to make them one dimensional the Pats need some special play from the edge. If we get that, Darnold might just give the game away. Pats need turnovers and a short field on O. Get a solid lead and ride the defense.
 
Expecting Patriots to get the W in a close fought dogfight, but in keeping with Sammy, they will scratch and scrawl their way to victory, and get home by a whisker. Cat Warriors.
Purrfect for Patriot Nation.
 
I'm hoping for any and all of the following to happen:

Chaisson strip sack

Marcus PR TD and/or pick six

Henderson takes it to the house on a short screen

Maye incredible scramble and Hail Mary
 
The Pats need to force long drives on the Seattle offense. Give Darnold every opportunity to turn into the QB he was in NY. Seattle is prone to turning the ball over so longer drives gives them more chances at it. Pats need to move the ball, even if just for the field position game. And Baringer needs a good game, which is worrisome.

Heard interesting stat on radio the other day......Over the last two seasons, Darnold (during his so called resurgence) has only faced a top 5 defense 1 time and a top 10 defense 3 times. Maye equaled that these playoffs. Darnold is due for some mistakes.

Darnold isn't the same QB we saw on the Jets, he's developed more and can make reads and has some dump offs he can cycle to if he needs.
 
I just wanna be in it til the end.

I mean, I want them to win ... but definitely keep my hopes alive into the 4th at least

I don't disagree with that, but he still crapped his pants in the playoffs last year, he could still get spooked the Patriots get after him hard, and I think that's what Vrabel will do.
 
Williams, Barmore, and Tonga are difference-makers in the middle of the line. How Darnold handles that pressure will be important.

I expect Milt Williams to back up his performance last year with another one that’s just as good, to prove it’s no fluke he’s really that good.

And I hope Barmore outplays him. And that Durden and Tonga elevate their games too.

Those would be great but I don’t think they are necessary.
Protect Drake Maye we win.
Harass Sam Darnold we win

Big you are right in that we are a big play team so we will have some. Big toe to toe we win if we protect Maye.

I don’t think we win if we try to do that. It’s. It our game.
We need points. We get points from chunk plays.
Our offense always struggles when we try to play to the chains, play for 3rd and short and have long drives. We need to make 1st downs in 1st and 2nd down. It’s really the key to the game to me, if we get conservative we lose.
