Yeah, I stopped watching his pressers too.

And I also saw his weekly Belistrator segment on the boob tube.

Just because he coached the team to 6 SB titles it doesn't mean that he couldn't have given the fans more during his pressers after games. He also limited the players in many cases.

None of this mattered in the HOF vote of course. He got hosed.

BTW, do you think that there's any truth to the Whitlock theory that Kraft may be behind the no vote. If true that would be a serious problem. Or is it all a part of the media trying to distract the team?
Man, how much time do you spend on this? He gave more time than I had to tune in. I spend way too much time on this stuff now.

After the BB fiasco not a chance, he will sail through.
Absolutely, like Miss America after one of the winners was found to have posed semi nude and had to give up her crown. The next year Bob Guccione publisher of Penthouse Magazine claimed to have nude photos of one of the contestants. So who won that year? Miss Utah who was the least likely to have posed nude. They went to the extreme. The HOF will bend over back next year to not have another sh*tstorm like this year.

If they (the hof voters) are saying that only 3 people, not players, can be enshrined in any given year then lets look at next year's list.
Just to name the top 3. AP and Gronk should be 1st ballot. Ben, not so much. I think Darren Woodson is also still on enshrined but he could fall into the same list of old timers, like R. Craig/LC Greenwood.
Adrian Peterson
Gronk
Rapelesburger

Edit: I think Richard Sherman is eligible as well, not to mention AB. He's not getting in.

People complain about how he didn't give the fans more in the press conferences... personally, I loved it. BB being the grumpy old man in the hoodie looking like Darth Vader and grunting at reporters was one of my favorite personalities/schticks of the whole dynasty run. I thought him being a grouch was hilarious. And even in the down years at the end, I didn't care. Sure the results weren't there but I don't think the results are in any way impacted by what he says or doesn't say to the media. So him just being grumpy was still something for me to laugh at.

The latter, of course. I don't understand why, in a world where there are so many things to make you angry, people need Stephen A. Smith or WEEI. They're addicted to anger and can't help rising to the bait.

That's all intentional pot-stirring shtick.

I wonder, has anyone ever seen Stephen A. speak in a conversational tone? He's always shouting; whenever he pops up I reflexively change the channel.

I wonder, then, if they are this petty about it, are they going to do the same to Brady?

This is my fear too.

Don't care Nearly as much about Bill or Bob.

As long as Brady is voted In as a Unanimous First-Ballot HOFer, then whatever else happens, happens.

Non-players should have to wait At Least as long as players have to wait anyway.

Good god what are voters looking At? No Walsh, no Montana 49ers dynasty
Neither did Gibbs lol. He waited 4 years.

Part of it is that coaches are sort of in a separate more congested category than players and the spots are limited and the waiting period for coaches has changed constantly. It used to be very little so they didn't care about first ballot to get some guys through because coaches already weren't waiting the 5 years. Then Gibbs got in after 4 years of retirement and then came back in the league and they didn't like that situation so they changed it to 5 years. Now it just recently got put back to 1 year and they are in this crowded and congested category where it sort of feels like some guys are skipping the line over guys who waited forever.

A big problem also is they don't really know what to do with coaches as a category. There's such a large amount of players that they can fill a class every year, so if you put coaches with them, even some of the most deserving might get passed over because players really are the the priority. You can't have a separate category for coaches alone because there just aren't enough coaches who are HOF worthy to merit it and even being forced to have 1 each year would completely dilute the whole thing. So they get stuck with contributors and the vets where the intention is to take older historical figures who fell through the cracks or were harder to contextualize in their time but are deserving. Roger Craig is a great example because he was probably a very borderline guy in his era but was fundamental to a dynasty and time has been even kinder to him where people view him as integral to his team's success, so that borderline case that just barely missed it is now tilted in his favor and because he needed that historical perspective, he is now part of the vets.

But Bill's stuck with guys like that who waited forever and realistically because they changed it, some of them are going to get crowded out again because more recent coaches and contributors will start popping up.

I don't doubt that there were some people that just used Spygate or wanted to punish him for how he was to the media. But that other aspect was the rational of at least one voter and so you add that in and it opened the door for something like this.

Very well stated!

Mahomes commented before Brady?
I never hated Pat the person, I hate the Queefs so by association I knock him once in a while. Psychologically it’s because I don’t ever want anyone surpassing Tom but I can admit he is an amazing talent that would be a first ballot HOFer if he retired today. I’m glad the most high profile player in the league called out this ********.

Wow. Never knew that, Lombardi not going in first ballot is arguably as wild or wilder than BB’s snub. The damn trophy is named after him!
Lombardi is not a first ballot hall of famer because he was never on a ballot. The hall waived the waiting period for him and inducted him directly the year after his passing in 1970.

BB should just decline the consolation prize if they vote him in at a later date.

I doubt he does. The HOF matters to him and way too many guys he actually respects are part of it. He doesn't want to be on the outside looking in on it with the guys like Taylor, Brown, all his players he loves, guys like Johnson etc.

They did cheapen the hall by doing this. But youre correct.
