I get it and I don't agree with it. Imagine Brady not getting in on the first try because he spoke out about the BB snub?
The hof committee should be disbanded. The NFL needs to overrule this vote, somehow. This is cheating at its pinnacle. It's obvious to everyone.
They didn't vote Kraft in because of likeability and "Gates"

They didn't vote BB in because of likeability and "Gates"

Will we be surprised if TB12 isn't voted in on the first ballot when we have clear evidence the HoF committee has clear contempt for those on the franchise's masthead?

When will Tom Brady issue a statement about the snub? EVERYONE else has.
Tom Brady still harbors ill will towards BB, Kraft and the organization.
BB threw him under the bus for deflategate

Jimmy Johnson is and always has been our boy.

Two things I know:

1) If we land at this outcome as a result of going through this process, the process is broken.
2) To reinstate credibility, be accountable and walk this decision back. Dan Orlosky walked back his comments on CJ. He was wrong and took accountability for it. That is how its done. Society needs more of this. Its ok to be wrong. What's not ok is to allow it and leave it out there thinking time will wash it over. That is NOT acceptable. If the Hall is to be revered, then prove your credibility by taking accountability.

When Jonas Grey has got your back, you are doing something right....

Belichick was the final boss in the 2000 when the Colt won their superbowl. Manning had to overcome the Pats in the AFC championship game down 18 point. Polian devalued himself, Manning and Colt by not voting for Belichick.

Some people are so bitter at others success, swear to Satan.

Filming the field from the wrong position and the IGL are used as excuses to justify being completely incapable of matching someone's success. It's ludicrous.

It's funny that some bring up Deflategate at all since, even if you believed it to be a real thing, that dumbass Ted Wells said Belichick had zero involvement.

A lot of people have asked every single one of the voters who they voted for. Some refused to answer. Some ignored it altogether.
Why is it in secret? Where is the transparency? Even Polian said he doesn't remember who he voted for.

No one is going to change their opinions on any of that because of this. All this does is personally smite Belichick. Polian and others robbed him of something that meant a lot individually to him out of spite. That's really all it is.

I certainly don’t hate him.
I am grateful for everything he helped us accomplish during his tenure, and 100% believe we don’t have as many Lombardis without him. Hell, we probably don’t have Brady without him so maybe we are stuck in Bills no ring territory.
I am well informed however, and I’m speaking from my own experience of watching him over his 20 years here. He pissed people off, I don’t think that’s hard to admit.
People like Polian are pissed off because the Patriots beat them. Not sure what Belichick did to anyone else. I actually asked the question seriously. I wanted to know.

It's funny because I listened to the morning show on 98.5 today (which I never do, but it was easier today since Fred wasn't on). And they were comparing Joe Mazzulla and how cantankerous he is with the Boston media. Mazzulla used to visit with Belichick. They talked about the fact that Mazzulla goes after Chris Forsberg with similar disdain as Belichick had for the local media. And Forsberg was pretty eloquent when discussing the dynamic between him and Mazzulla, and he talked about how the hard questions he asks are part of his job as a reporter, and that the tough responses from Mazzulla are maybe not generous, or even unfair, but that again, this is part of the professional relationship in that venue.

Here's where the problem comes. Many sports reporters operate with the scandal and outrage of the current culture where they drive ratings by acting affronted. And they forget Journalism 101. Let me give you an example this morning of a NY sports journalist, Gary Myers. He is wondering why people want to know the names. He says he did vote for Belichick but wonders what purpose it serves to go after individual voters for voting the way they felt. The really weird thing about the points he's making is that it's not the fans who have peeled back the curtain on the HOF vote, but it was another fellow journalist for ESPN who has anonymous sources saying that Polian campaigned to exclude Belichick. What's that reporter supposed to do? Sit on the information? It's absurd that Myers would even ask that question, since another reporter revealed there is a pressure campaign going on, and that it's not an "innocent" vote," but I think the reason Myers feels this way is that sports journalists do NOT really carry themselves as true reporters, and this kind of thinking goes way back. I remember when Will McDonough went after Parcells because Parcells didn't tip him off properly by telling him who he wanted to pick in the NFL draft -- as though it was Parcells' job to tip McDonough off for his long Sunday column! If journalists are butthurt by Belichick, it's because they act more like Myers and McDonough than they do Forsberg.

I agree wholeheartedly with the vast majority of posters in this thread up to this point except the regular ******* who calls BB pond scum (leaving out the word duplicitous) in his particular post in this thread.
Maybe FCB' s surname is Mannix.

Also, the ******* here who publicly states he hates BB while still purporting to be a fan of this team.
I also include all others who are pleased with this shameful shunning of BB but won't put it in print here. You know who you are.
GO PATS. GO BB. GO TB. GO MV. GO DM. GO TEAM.

Goodell should step in but he's right up there with Polian as to who is the biggest corrupt weasel. Polian dragged the NYJFL into the ridiculous Deflategate fiasco and Goodell doubled down on the stupidity because dragging down the Patriots juggernaut by any means available was the priority. I doubt that Goodell has found any ethics or honor stashed in a cupboard since then.
Polian doesn't really care. While the other owners were screaming no mas with deflategate, he was pushing it. Harbaugh was part of it too. Stephen A. Smith tried to shame Polian this morning and vilify him, but it's just ridiculous to think Polian cares. Polian is sitting around laughing like the Penguin from Batman at doing Belichick dirty. He doesn't care how he looks and he's just like some posters here who don't care they are basing everything on personal animus than any reason for facts.

I didn't like how BB ended things here but this is a joke he's a first ballot without a doubt

Yeah, dunno why this surpised anyone. The Man has been kickin a** for almost 2 decades. Made alotta enemies, especially amongst his coaching peers. Then add in the 'Gates....

Just their way of " winning " against him.

He will get in pbly inn3 to 5 years. Alotta coaches and pundits still butthurt, right now

Several reasons why he really shouldn't, including his ownership stake in the Raiders.

Not the least of which being his own candidacy in 2028.
I dont find this convincing. I understand what you're saying, and of the 2 reasons, the first one seems more legitimate, but his 20 year history holds more sway.

They WILL NOT keep Brady out of the HOF on the first ballot even if it comes out he's the one who nicknamed Mr. Doink the Deflator.

That's exactly it. They don't like him, so they justify it with ********. I'd rather Polian just come out and say, "I hate him." That, at least, would be honest.
