I’m not sure why (especially the coaching tree) given the overall lousy results from tree members. (Besides the root )Seems like the Patriots coaching/mgmt tree is always in demand in the NFL....
Caserio has helped bring 3 rings.
We had a drought period middle of Brady's career and Caserio has been a major contributor to championships. He's found elite players on our units and been adept at no name undrafted guys who fit BB's scheme.
He's been director for 11 years and they've paid him less than a GM makes, plus he works on the field with players as a double bonus.
I wish Caserio much success if he leaves. He's been awesome here and deserves whatever positive things he gets.
.
The Pats went the extra mile to keep McDaniels. If Caserio is that good they will do the same. If not, it tells us to not worry. Texans have to lose a couple of guys when they pay Watson, and will be without top draft picks as well. Let's see how good the Texans are after that (see Rams struggles).
You’re assuming the BOB situation would remain the same. I don’t see Caserio going to Houston without an agreement that takes a bunch of those powers from BOB and gives them to him.Aside from money (which might be the main reason) it's still unclear to me what is more appealing about the HOU job than the role here in NE.
My belief is BOB will still pretty much have final say on personnel.
Whatever....he must have his reasons $$, autonomy, etc).
Beisel? This is the appropriate reaction. People come and go.
I wonder who moves up. Monte?
You’re right. I’d add Schiano (who was here for a micro second) as a semi recycle. The Pats rarely recycle guys. When guys leave the Pats refill from the bottom. McDaniels is an exception. I doubt Caserio will be retained, but maybe. It is the formula that works, but people always worry whenever someone else is rumored to be leaving. The proper reaction based on history is to be happy - it means the formula is still working.
