Trey Flowers goes to the Lions

I doubt he’s going to be playing for Patricia for very long, but congrats to him. That’s excellent money and he earned it.
Yep, matty p better produce soon or he'll be cut

Last offseason
Belichick cost the team the Super Bowl and it's not fun to play here

This off-season
Belichick won the Super Bowl and just made two players filthy rich

The allure of coming here is as strong as ever now. Do your job and you'll be rewarded with a ring and a payday, be it here or somewhere else.

That's game changer type money right there something Flowers is not.

Sad to see him go. I thought they might be willing to bend a little with a player like Flowers but they're very disciplined.

Not surprised. Lions are gonna blow their cap load to get to .500/be relevant, and the Pats will manage theirs with viable alternatives to stay on top.

The disappointment continues today

Oh well

I'll bet $14m AAV. They will not pay him more than Brady and keep him the same/close to Gilly.

I agree. I would be shocked if BB didn't use the good old "I can't pay you more than ..." line. Whatever, it sucks but we have moved on successfully from many key players. Odds are this will not be any different.

Huge loss. Run D might be bumpy but they'll be fine.

Just gotta trust the system and the scheme.

Flowers is really someone I can't help but feel good for. He got here as pick 101 and worked his ass off to get a blockbuster deal 4 years later. No reason he should take a sizable discount.

He deserves everything coming to him.

I would settle for either Houston or Ansah just about now. That said it would be wise to keep Adrian Clayborne.

Very good news actually since i said goodbye months ago and thought he goes to MIA..

I agree.. not only out of the division but also out of the conference. With Patricia, Dola and Flowers I might have a reason to check out a couple of Lions games next season.

I am sad over this even though it was expected. At least he didn’t follow Flores to Miami !

Considering he has 2 Super Bowl rings, has been playing on his rookie deal and very well might be in a wheelchair when hes 60, he should grab every last penny.

Damn, sad to see him go. Was an impact player and easy to root for. But still, that is massive money, and I can't blame him for taking it (or really the Patriots for declining). Currently our best bet to replace him (in a way), is the addition of Bennett and hopefully another step forward for Wise. Then mix in a couple rookies (one drafted, one not), and a surprise veteran cut, and we'll find a decent group at DE. DT needs some attention as well though.
