Patriots do not like to use franchise designation

During the BB era (19 seasons) the Patriots have used the franchise/transition tag nine times. Only one team, the Seahawks, have used the tag more.

Flowers was brought in to do exactly what he’s done. He gets to the qb and thats what he did in college. Most qb pressures in his senior year of college, so it comes as no surprise that he has been successful. Only surprise is where they got him in the draft.

Since coming here he’s given us that and then some with the overall improvement in other area’s of his game.

Time to pay the man a reasonable contract that is worthy of his talents. Don’t overpay but don’t lowball him either. Just something that’s good for the team and for him. If another team wants to break the bank for him, so be it. Just want the Pats be suitors is all.

Jones is a better pass rusher... Flowers is a better all around defensive lineman. Flowers is a better culture fit and is worth more to the defense given his discipline and understanding of the game.

I hope they explore all possible avenues minus tagging him in retaining him. The defensiveline needs a leader.

Or worst Case scenario transition tag and trade

Flowers is a must sign...Him and Gilmore are our best two defensive players, there's nobody on the line that's even remotely close to a player that he is.

If we can’t work out a deal by the deadline I’d tag him. We’re going year to year with Brady at this point, next years team is much better with flowers a part of it.
