Re: First lost of the season

I agree N.Eman....a few close calls...but undefeated....

Re: First lost of the season

A number of games will be close, like last year. I do not "want" a loss to come at all. However, I will concede that I do not mind if the Pats don't even show up to the second game in February.

So are you saying that this is a rebuilding year?

This has my vote as worst thread of 2008 (so far). I don't understand the mentality of trying to anticipate or "predict" when the team you're supposedly rooting for will lose. Ridiculous. :bricks::bricks::bricks::bricks:

Nobody cheering for a loss. Take your homer glasses off and smell reality for a second undefeated for 2 years in a row will be tough to do.

This would actually be the first year.

I just look at last year as a prep course for this year, where we do something even more special.

I want a loss in week 17 when they wrap up the division and HFA then put the scrubs out there to waste 60 minutes.

It's amusing how since the Pats went undefeated one time in the regular season, they will continue to do so for the next two seasons (according to the fans). No, no fan roots for a loss. But seriously, do people not expect to lose at all next season??

No one said that.

The original post said, which week do you want to lose next season, not do you think we'll lose next season.

This year's schedule is mild compared to last year.

We wil be better on defense AND OFFENSE.

Why can't we go undeated?

The first loss will come against a pissed off San Diego team. The next one will come in Week 17 v.s. Buffalo when we rest our starters.

the only way the chargers beat the pats is if that WHOLE team is on steroids. just half the team on steroids won't be enough. :singing:

ps; call me a homer all you want but i never root or expect a loss. i look for 18-0 every year.

Oh and by the way folks, I guarantee you this will not be the last time you see this thread posted on here, unfortunately.

In fact the weeks following the Super Bowl loss this train of thought was actually quite accepted around here by many people and "lose for a better future!" people started popping back up again.

Honestly I wonder if people who believe pressure/hype has any negative effect on this team have been following along. All of those suspicions should been eliminated immediately after the San Diego game, the last drive of the Ravens game or the come from behind win for 16-0.

John Tomase, ESPN, Don Shula, etc. had absolutely nothing to do with us going 18-1. Our offensive line being unable to contain the Giants pressure was due to a lack of execution not because of them being pre-occupied with the pressure of going 19-0 or John Tomase.

hmmm.....cant find a loss unless people get hurt in which case happens every year you just dont know who.

it's a stupid question. As a fan, i don't want to see Pats loose.

You want to see them tight? I think they should be loose. They play better loose, everyone does. Play tight and you might lose.

Obviously another undefeated regular season would be absolutely incredible and amazing to follow. But realistically, that's a bit much to expect. Last year the Pats played no further away than Dallas. This year the team plays four games on the west coast; I would be somewhat surprised if the Pats go 4-0 in games three time zones away. Seattle comes late in the year, after a game against the Steelers. San Diego comes after spending a full week away from Foxboro, on the road. Indy is always a tough game too. I want the Pats to win them all but I just feel that things will go wrong in one of those games.

I also think the Chargers...BB might show them something vanilla as for offensive/defensive schemes,as we will no doubt meet them again in the playoffs....then again it might be a home-field factor,in which case he wont...the west coast road trips are tough in either event.

i hope we dont lose but i am sure its going to be alot harder to do again but it can be done again and we just might.
