Can someone make me feel better by answering this?

Wounded animals are the most dangerous. This is a wounded team. The emotional hangover may linger into the new season but these guys are champions, they're very angry and pissed off with themselves and sooner or later someone else is going to pay for that.

This was a wounded team last season and it fell short once again. The New England Patriots are in desperate need of a great draft in 2008. I don't need to see Teddy Bruschi, Junior Seau, and Rodney Harrison chasing receivers all over the field while watching Joseph Addai take a five yard check down all the way to the house. Youth and speed are desperately needed at the linebacker position and free agency is not the answer.

TFB!
Tom F'in Brady! Nuff Said!
7 years as a starter and 5 AFC Championship games, 4 Superbowls, 3 Superbowl Wins. In today's game of professional football, parity, that is simply an off the charts success rate.

100-27 record!

My answer is - why would they ?

We've won the division 6 of 7 years and were in a 3 way tie for first in the other. We've been to 4 SB in 7 years and won 3 of them. We're a SB team with a top ten pick in the draft and a QB in his prime.

Don't ask why we won't be like the Rams - and why on earth would anyone think we will be.

I guess I'm just worried about the fabled "Super Bowl (Losers') Hangover".

The "Hangover" is that the SB loser doesn't make the playoffs the next year. Can you see the Bills, Fins or Jets winning more games than the Pats next year? The Bills are trying to withstand a talent drain. The Jets are trying to figure out what kind of offensive and defensive team they want to be. The Fins are blowing it all up and starting over. None of them know at this minute who will be their starting QB. All the Pats need is a winning record (overall and in the division) to make the playoffs. Anyone worried?

The fabled "Super Bowl (Losers') Hangover" is a myth of sorts. Injuries have done teams in more than any "hangovers" and not properly retooling the team via the draft. In essence, an overreliance on aging veterans provides a team that false sense of security.

Maybe this sobering moment will make this happen.

I hope so.
