Anyone the least bit worried about the best record last year trend?

Not thats its a big deal but since New England won the Super Bowl in 2004/2005 the next 2 Super Bowl champions have been the team who has had the best record in the previous year....

In other words ..
Pittsburgh had the best record at 15-1 in 2004/2005 and won the Super Bowl the next season in 2005/2006
Indianapolis had the best record at 14-2 in 2005/2006 and won the Super Bowl the next season in 2006/2007

Now San Diego had the best record at 14-2 last year in 2006/2007 - Now its 2007/2008 ???

Is there a possibility this trend continues?

I certainly hope not but it IS interesting to say the least

No.
Mainly because none of those teams ended the season 16-0.

I have it from a good source that this trend is skipping this year.

But don't worry it will resume again next year.

um...NE went a whole season undefeated, so they already broke one trend

i'm a charger fan but i'm also a big believer in making your own history

these are fun little trends to follow, but we do see trends like this, broken annually

it shouldn't be worried about or used as an excuse

it's just one of those things that has to die sometime, of course i'm hoping sometime isn't this playoffs lol

This trend is stupid. I sit even a trend at all or just a coincidence. Last I recall New England had the best record in '03 and won that same year. Do we just pick random arbitrary moments to begin 'trends'?

Just last week some Jacksonville fans were using some weird trend they found- something about the amount of wins the previous season vs. the current season and were convinced they were the team of destiny.

Here's a trend: Pats own the Chargers.

Here's a trend for you to remember

1. 24-21
2. 38-14
3. 42-13

Scores of Pats victoies over Chargers. #3 will happen upcoming sunday

Eh. I don't think two years is enough to constitute a trend, though I would certainly be happy if you're right and it continues
