Known it all year, but after his performance tonight it cements it into my head, yes we need to do our best to maintain Moss too, but we need a guy like Stallworth. His 53yd clutch catch tonight, extending his body for the first down with 2 mins in the game, he's so athletic and talented that we'd seriously be making a mistake letting him walk. What do you think? maybe im just stoked on the game and all, but man he came through for us guys.

He had an awesome 4th quarter. The question is: why wasn't he playing in the first 3? (Gaffney was instead).
I dont think its because of behavoral issues (since in interviews he's a trooper).
So its either because
1. he's injured
2. he's not as well prepared as gaff

He's a very nice luxury.

We NEED Asante or an effective replacement.

i would like to see him return a kickoff or a put power plus speed is what we need when returning welker is good at it but I would like to see what he could do.

I've always had faith in this kid.His yards after the catch is just amazing. There is no way Stallworth walks. My prayers are that he & Moss both will be Pats next season. Please don't break up the happy family.

I've been saying he's worth keeping all year. He's the best receiver after the catch (LOVED the dive for the first down) and his skills complement Moss and Welker perfectly. He's just had a few things going against him

01. Moss is the best #1 receiver this year by 81 miles
02. Welker is a ball magnet
03. For a guy that was a free again for the first few games of '06, Gaffney has played extremely well

I want this passing attack back next year. So far the only thing that has slowed it down is the monsoon they played in against the Jets. Can't even tell you how many people almost cracked their heads open going down the stairs in section 337.

didint look like that agaisnt the jags...he gave up two TD's, two recievers whome 70% of nfl fans dont even know the names...

Stallworth has earned his pay check, no doubt. If you think about next year, assume Moss and welker are on the team. You cannot keep Gaffney, Jackson, and Stallworth. Because one of them will be the #5 WR when they all deserve to be a #1/2. If Gaffney resigns that probably means bye-bye to Stallworth, tho I love to have them all.

Yeah Asante was not too hot tonight but he'll redeem himself. I don't expect him back next year though. If they go all the way this year he'll have three rings and a ton of money waiting for him on the open market. This might be his last year in a Pats uniform, hopefully he makes it count.

LOL @ the Japanese stalker asking Moss where he gets his clothes.

How the hell did Mathis catch Stallworth in the open field? That just just baffles me. Nobody catches Stallworth in the open field.

Yeah not Asantes best outing. He really got owned to start the game, was he gambling on the route or what or wasn't expecting it to be thrown in his direction? He got smoked.

we'd like to keep everyone but money only allows so much which is why this opportunity is so special and needs to be seized

He started watching to see how close he was on the jumbotron and it's like the car mirrors objects are closer then they appear.

and technaclly he is under contrct for next year juat ayt a very very high price if he choose to rework it he might come back if not he is fantastic trade bait

His two catches were two of the best plays of the game.

I'm one of the biggest Stallworth fans there is. I've wanted us to sign him for a few years. But something will have to give on the salary. I must admit I was surprised to see him caught from behind, even with an an angle.

He wasn't at full speed, since he had to reach out for a ball that was slightly overthrown.

would love to keep him but assuming we resign moss, it would be too much cap room invested in 1 position.

he is a luxury, not a need imo

Because he was looking at the Jumbotron!

As a blogger on SI put it:

It's just unfair 01/12/08
The hell with spygate. It's having a stud like Stallworth, who can break tackles and dive for a game-clinching first down, as your number 3 or 4 receiver that's really an outrage.

:rocker: :rocker:

Funny, I thought he played fantastic in limited plays and also thought, how can we afford a guy this talented that only gets two looks in a game where we hardly throw to Moss.

Of course we sign him if the price is right, but Gaff or some other options might have to do.

If you were Stallworth, do you sign for less money to get two or three looks a game?
