OT: McFadden Detained After Bar Fight

OK stupid question from the hick with a big fish in his avatar. Does having a piano in the bar automatically make it a piano bar? I've never been to one, someone please enlighten me.

Not only is his younger brother under 21, but so is Darren Mcfadden. He was born August 1987. Remember, he's only a junior in college. If he was drunk, he should have been charged with underage drinking.

DEAR GOD NO ONE IN AMERICA HAS EVER DRANK WHILE UNDERAGED ESPECIALLY NOT ANYONE ON THESE FORUMS! WHAT A HORRIBLE PERSON HE SHOULD BE SHOT!

What a ridiculous sentiment.

Ahem, most likely, no one in these forums are about to become multi-millionaires provided they behave themselves.

Not me, that's for sure. Course, I wasn't asking someone to have faith in my character and give me millions of dollars. I was just trying to get my tail to those damn 8 am classes.

Football players are human too. Never, ever forget that.

hahah this post is classic. Jeez , guess Darren deserves life in prison for doing what 99.9 percent of young guys in America have done. Get drunk and make a mistake!

Umm....

And why, pray tell, would we even consider drafting him? We have 2 pretty damn nice running backs already, plus Faulk.

McFadden isn't needed here. He seems to be more of an Oakland hind of guy.....

Or Atlanta.

Respects,

Not to mention Patchicks point, where his younger (less then 21?) brother was involved. Kind of makes me think of the Vick brothers, pre-dog period.
So if some knucklehead punched one of MCfaddens buddys and Mcfadden defended him he is a horrible person? You people are classic. A young guy goes to a bar , gets in a scuffle , and is not even charged with anything and all the sudden he is Mike Vick. Not sure if you where a isolated person growing up , but 90 percent of young guys have gotten a little to drunk , got into a scuffle, and made a mistake!

I love this board!!!!!! AAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!

I think you're missing the point. Of course we've all been drunk and screwed up (well, I've never been in a bar fight). Consider this. You own a business. You have 2 applicants with almost identical skill sets. 1 has a perfect track record with nothing bad. The other has had a couple of minor scuffles with the law and his character is a little questionable. He also had these scuffles right at a time when he knew you were looking to hire him and would be doing a thorough background check. Which one do you hire?

Did he win the scuffle? That's an important part of the equation.

The runner-up to the Heisman trophy two years running with an incredibly gifted skillset is who I'd take, obviously.

The point makes no sense because there's no player in this year's draft who is as talented a player as Darren McFadden. Football is not some suit-and-tie corporation, it's a game played by guys who are far from saints, something many fans fail to recognize.

I don't disagree with you. Hell, one of the poster children for bad behavior had 100 kids named after him in NE this year. I just think when drafting players now things like this are scrutinized more. Thank the Mike Vick's and PacMan Jones' of the world for that.

Im going to go ahead and go out on a limb here and say a meaningless bar fight in which Mcfadden was charged with nothing will not affect his draft position at all. I am willing to bet on it.

To my knowledge this is the first issue the KID has ever had. He is a kid, he made a mistake. Really not a big deal.

All those ripping this kid for a MINOR issue are hypocrites. Four words , Randy Moss Brandon Meriweather. I stuck up for both when they came here.

This is such a none issue. Seriously come on. The kid had a little to much to drink , got into a scuffle and was sent home by the police. This crap happens 25 times a night at every college in America.

This kid puts up with tons of crap every single time he tries to do anything on campus. Give him a freaking break , he didnt even get arrested.

OK, I know I'm wrong and jumping to conclusions. I didn't see anyone post this...

"Outside, McFadden was handcuffed by a police officer "because he was agitated and was provoking aggressive behavior inciting the incident," according to the police report.

"We handcuffed him for a few minutes because he was rowdy," Hastings said.

McFadden, who was the only person handcuffed, was released after he calmed down. Hastings said it was routine procedure to handcuff a person to gain control of a situation

After he calmed down and they realized he was the #1 hero in the state?

Call me a cynic...

Danny we can agree to disagree on this one, but this is 2nd scuffle with the law I believe.

Edit--and didn't Meriweather's stock drop because of the head stomp?

Keep in mind the Raiders pick second. They need a RB (well, could use a top-tier one) and this probably makes him more appealing to the gang in Oakland.

Just what they're looking for.

I for one think he should be executed for losing his cool and making a simple mistake most college kids make every weekend

You're going to gamble 20-30 million on him. It won't make you think?

That's all that's being discussed. Businessmen make decisions based on upside compared to risk.

Irrelevant running back with skinny legs.

Danny, reread the thread...2nd problem with a bar fight. And he's under 21. And most importantly, he knows he's in a special life window lasting only a couple of months in which his every move is under a microscope, with any misstep potentially costing him tens of millions of dollars. (E.g.: last year's #1 got $61 mil for 6 years, last years #10 got $15 mil for 6 years.) With all that on the line, this underage kid is getting into trouble at a bar after midnight on a Wednesday night

Does this make him a terrible person? Is it way out of bounds for a normal 20-year-old? Of course not. Nobody's calling for the firing squad. But it's not a positive sign about his maturity, judgment and self-control. And given that this draft looks like the best, deepest crop of RBs in years, that could be enough to persuade a team on the edge to, say, go QB or OT in the first and wait until later for their running back. (Especially a team like Atlanta, which is certain to demand a choir boy this time around.)

Going to school with a good number of football players who have made it the NFL/will make it to the NFL, I'll tell you this... a barroom scuffle in which no one is charged is really no big deal. This made papers and websites, but be sure that this happens to most college football players quite often. Again, these guy's aren't saints.

If McFadden was waving a gun at some guy (like the Vicks), it'd be a story. Having to be restrained by police routinely because he was getting aggressive with someone (who, I can see it now, was half his size and talking all kinds of crap to McFadden) shouldn't be one.
