Patriots Pregame Thread Patriots @ Seahawks pre-game discussion

Pregame Discussion ahead of the LIVE game day discussion thread. The actual Game Thread will Open an hour ahead of kickoff.

It seems they might have to release Arkin or Latu OR Hunter or Hutchins to make room for Larison tonight.
And, if all goes well, Larison should not get sent down again. They should know whether Latu is going to be playable in the next month already. Or if Arkin's skill-set is workable with how fast Raridon is progressing.
Same with all the young/new LB's. It's pretty absurd that we're relying on rookie/new Jacas, Obiazor, Muasau, Hutchins, Hunter as total depth LB / OLB.
But based on injury history and newness of Kiner, it makes sense to have 4 RBs rather than 4 TEs.

SMH!

There is no need to release anybody, as has been explained multiple times already.

Here it is again:

There are two elevations allowed from PS to active list for each game without requiring roster addition.
Those elevations revert to the PS after the game, automatically.
No roster changes involved.

Please pay attention!

for me, the key's to the game tonight are;

-starts with Maye. year 2 with McD he needs to be smarter in his decision making, especially if he feels heat.
-next is Campbell, AVT and Wilson. none of us were able to see them in preseason, although I did at 1 joint practice. They look healthy. Will they be ready, and will Campbell and Wilson erase the SB stain tonight? Is AVT rusty, and did he need some preseason snaps?
- I like Larison elevated for the game. having a checkdown like him will be important
-Gilliam needs to show why he was signed
-is Ponder up to the task of his preseason hype?
-Darnold is not good with pressure up the middle. Barmore, Milt and Durden need to show up
-Kur needs to stay aggressive on sending people at Darnold.

Not having Kenneth Walker, a difference maker, and all those injuries to their safety position puts the Seahags at no better than 50/50.

I'll take Maye over Darnold in a big way.

But AVT could go down with an injury. Then we start playing musical chairs at the OL.

My eyes will be on AVT and Jared Wilson. Campbell should have a statement game.

I predict McDaniels calls a great game. The rookie OC for Seattle has big shoes to fill.

Can’t wait. Will be nice to have a chance to see what the starters actually look like. This should be a great year

The game will come down to how well they protect Maye, which is partly his own responsibility. It wasn't just Seattle's front 7, some of the biggest SB plays were corner blitzes. Rham needs to keep his head on a swivel, and Maye needs to find his keys. We should be well prepared for this seeing as it's the same opponent we last played. Our OL is in a much better place now, and our WR's too, so I'm confident we can do this.

Tom Brady helped them expose Josh a bit last Super Bowl. I'm sure McD spent the entire summer thinking about that, and when McDonald revealed he had some "special help" I'm sure that sent Josh into overdrive.

I had my first root canal an hour ago. 4 hours. Ugh.

Only 5 hours to go!

I forgot about that story. Really boils me up now more than when I first heard it. Especially after seeing his statue under the lighthouse in person in August. That's a pretty snaky & selfish thing to do while screaming "I'm a Patriot for life". We know it's because he didn't want the Pats to win without him - total ego move.
But tonight the team is more concerned with answering the doubters that they were gifted that SB berth. I hope they send Darnold back to Jets-mode, and shove raw fish in the mouths of those intolerable fans.

Seatlle's in a tough spot, no Charbonnet, no starting safeties (If Emmanwori plays, he's going to be hampered). Sort of looks like, keep Smith-Njigba in check, and do a decent job blocking up the pass rush, it's going to be challenging for Seattle to generate offense, and do enough on defense to win.

Sure, could happen, anything can.
