McDaniels hasn't show his regular season playcalling hands. The Offense played Handicapped in the SB: even Maye was waaaay off.

I can't wait to see the game. I want to see how they look. Sucks that preseason's such a farce now.

Joint practices are way better...they should just do those instead of those reched preseason games.

Just my opinion but I think the key to victory will be stopping Seattle's running game and forcing their offense to be one dimensional. (and if Gonzales can do to JSN what he did in the Super Bowl 4 catches on 10 targets for 27 yards). Kenneth Walker is gone, Charbonnet is injured and his replacement is a rookie.
Darnold was 19/38 for 202 yards in the Super Bowl. Let's see how he does if his running game gets shut down when they aren't getting 5.0 ypc

The reason why the Seahawks resorted to the run after struggling through the air was because they knew the Pats offense wasn't going to move the ball on their defense. The key is for the Pats to score early and often making Seattle put the ball in Darnold's hands.

Personally, I want to see how the Seahawks perform after losing practically their whole offensive coaching staff.

The Patriots, meanwhile, have to show that the reworked offensive line is going to hold up. The line improved tremendously from 2024 to 2025. Too bad that just meant going from despicable to below average. This year, I would settle for an 'average' group. Don't forget just how long it takes for linemen to fully mature into NFL linemen. Don't expect Campbell, Wilson, or Lomu to be a finished product yet. It's unfair to Campbell and Wilson and unreasonable for Lomu.

Don't be surprised if everything looks VERY vanilla Wednesday night. Vanilla used to be the flavor du jour of the preseason. Now that the starters don't even play a snap together in the preseason, September is going to be very vanilla.

Barmore is currently in overrated territory now. I was hoping for a poor man's Chris Jones; very disappointing returns with his current contract.

He’s been overrated for quite some time which many Pats fans are still in denial over. They frequently point to obscure PFF stats, but he is irrelevant to media, coaches, execs, scouts and players.

Looks like he retuned to practice today. If he has another 2 sack season, he will be showing the door in 2027.

Barmore signed a huge contract before a life threatening event.

He's really not the same player since.

They only have to get through one more year, but at least Barmore was not a complete write off.

This is the danger of guaranteeing a ton of money.

This is imo the most underrated factor in this game. The Seattle offense is going to be very different. New staff, new system, many opportunities for teething problems.

Darnold really game managed the Super Bowl and did not make any mistakes. The Pats defense only gave up 1 TD off a NE turnover.

I think we get beat, just because there's a lot of new pieces to work into chemistry. I don't think it's a defensive masterpiece like the SB, but I think SEA will do just enough and Pats will make a few mistakes typical of a preseason game for the starters.
We'll lose by ~4. But it'll give the team the urgency to win the next 2. I think we'll beat PIT & JAC, and good chance @BUF too.

Hard to disagree with any of that and im not super confident heading into this one. If its competitive ill be happy enough. Vrabel’s week 1 record isn’t very good either.

Fortunately the first couple weeks are never really a great indicator of what the team will do that season do other than a few years, 04/07/16/23 come to mind. But if we do drop this one, next week against pit becomes very important for us.

We were UNDEFEATED on the Road last year: Vrabel will have them prepared. Our Offense should come out Guns Blazing we spent a lot of $$$$$$$ on Offense.

I do like Seattle's OL, and think they can run the ball effectively. They attacked the edges in the SB, and while Jones is an upgrade, I am not sure Ponder is when it comes to setting the edge. the Pats depth players simply did not show in preseason they were ready to play in a game like this, and be able to set the edge.

Seattle's FG kicker is very good.
I am expecting a low score game, with hopefully AJB and a healthy Campbell being the difference from the SB.

I think it will come down to McDaniels and his new toys. He has a lot of implements to use.
