With a name like that; Byard probably brought his way. Joke aside we are going have a very good Back end of our Defense.

Maye, Henry, Jones and Spillane are repeats from last year. Landry and Schooler were the other two; I wonder if they were even eligible this year given their status? So Moses and Byard are the new captains.

Every season, each team develops their own unique identity. Remember you are always changing a quarter to a third of your roster with new players, so even the strongest cultures undergo some changes. It's the nature of the game. As for Schooler and Landry, since neither have been around this new group, how could they earn the right to be captains of THIS group

The players allegedly vote for captains. If they’ve played with him on other rosters and know him from there why not? It’s not like this is a stable roster, instead of a bunch of traveling mercenaries.

Right now, without even looking, I’d expect that there are as many players with more history playing for Vrabel on other teams than there are players with history playing for the Pats under BB and Mayo.

Expecting captain selections to reflect allegiance and tradition with the franchise is a cute anachronism.
