OT: Stefon Diggs To Sign With Washington Commanders

Good luck to Diggs.

I thought was a good opportunity for both, but was unsure about the whole chemistry thing.
He won me over early last season. Was a good teammate, even if he will be broke from child support within 3 years after nfl retirement.

i loved everything about him last year. I wish him luck
I do agree with you about the child support issue. When you have more 3 year olds than a Kentucky Derby. Then your up that creek they talk about

The biggest stat he was missing was touch downs.

I know they arent easy to come by... but we needed a few more, in several games last season.

He needed them for his net worth.

Last season was hard to watch knowing that we had an offense that could be great... but instead were just really good.

I'm reading more about it. There are incentives involved. It's actually worth "up to $12M". That's brutal, but I'm not shocked. The guy couldn't separate all last season and many here are overrating what he did. He reminds me of a better version of 1999 Terry Allen.

That's the best season any Patriots receiver has had since Edelman. They do keep score, you know.

Thanks Diggs.

Diggs was a good teammate on the field...

I do wonder what went wrong behind the scenes that caused the team to move on from him... Gotta be more than money...

It's his age Diggs will be 33 by years end and his cap number for a 33 year old would have been too high. AJB is Five years younger a 29 - 30 or 31 year old WR can still get paid: but at age 33 you better be world beater.

Yeah? I'd have to look at what other wrs were making in their 30s ... It might be part of it... Can't help think there is something else... But eh, it doesn't matter, he's DCs problem now

So as a 32 year old Diggs gets 19.8 million, gains over 1000 yards/ 85 receptions, was team leader on a historic turnaround, but isn't worth more than 12 million this year because he's a year older.

I think Diggs passed up on his best opportunity.

Diggs had a good year but I think he's getting close to that WR cliff.

So you think they see this and weren't willing to pay even as much as Washington just did?

Remember he would have been on our Books for a lot more. I'm glad they moved on.

They ate 10 million in cap cutting Diggs.

They could have kept him for 14 million cash earnings, been charged about the same 10 million this year that they ate, and had approximately similar 10-14 million dead cap next year.

You don't think the team would have offered that?

Sounds like Diggs made the wrong move.

Well it's contingent on the Former Offensive Rookie of the year staying healthy QB Jayden Daniels. Also with Terry Mclaurin being #1 he's a sure #2 and the Commanders have some young Developing WR's in the wings. I don't think it's bad lateral move by Diggs at the very least he's playing with a very good QB.

I'm glad they moved on.

I'm not anti Doubs like some posters, but re-signing Diggs at these numbers would have opened up next year for a similar FA signing or kept the door open for Boutte.

I'm not so sure I'm glad we moved on from that scenario.
