PATRIOTS TRAINING CAMP 2026 Patriots Training Camp - Day 10

No one is making excuses for Doubs.
You just did by saying GB's passing isn't "prolific". And you must've missed the poster I was responding to who just made an excuse for him comparing him to Edelman.
You however seem to be making a lot of excuses for why GB's WR friendly offense hasn't been so WR friendly the past 2 years.
No, I provided facts. If they had playmakers at WR, they'd have a better passing attack. SF featured McCaffery in the passing game by a wide margin because their WR's were crap. Allen's passing numbers plummeted when Diggs left. Love would have better passing numbers if he had prime Adams. It's not that difficult to understand.
I will defer judgment until I see how he performs in our offense.
I will be the first to post I was wrong if Doubs blows up in this offense. But the likelihood he becomes the next Welker is slim to none.

He hasn’t done much. Prunty is the leader at this point on the outside.

We need a veteran Outside CB opposite the rookie. We also need a veteran Slot CB in case Marcus Jones needs a rest/is injured.
We currently have Neither in the building.

When did Phil Perry turn into such a prick? He asked Drake today about his contract for next year and phrased it "are you concerned about your contract extension talks for next year based on what is going on with Gonzalez". What a stupid question to ask Drake and the way he phrased it was so unnecessarily drama filled. Of course, now it is the entire first spot on Boston Sports Tonight. I can't stand the Boston sports media, even the good ones eventually turn into click bait, rage baiting ass holes. Except for Mike Reiss who I respect for not going down this path. There used to be a distinction between Boston Sports Talk which has always been this way and other journalists but with Social Media they all act like this now. Journalism is dying a slow death not just in sports and it is not healthy.

Reiss is fed info from management to get out their message. Why do you think he was out-of-character hyper-critical at the end of 2024?
He was told that MayoNays was going to be fired at the end of it, that's why, so he was greasing the skids for them...

Jordan Love has had under 3400 passing yards each of the past 2 seasons.
GB had the 17th ranked passing attack last year.
GB had the 12th ranked passing attack in 2024.

Not sure it's as WR friendly as you think.

Might be that their QB's un-friendly to the WRs

I noticed this with Perry last year.
Stirred up Diggs drama without much basis.
He's another on the path to full douchebag.
Tip for ya Phil, you aren't important, never will be, now go eff off.
Who is his partner?

Go figure…

I say it is a reason we need to move Boutte....need to move Williams up to get more time to gel with Maye.
Boutte had 551yrds last year, not a lot of production to replace
I’d like to be wrong but I’m starting to think it’s more likely Williams moves out, not up.

The best WR room in years and you guys are looking high and low for ways to gut it. This is why we cant have nice things.
****ing this.

I should be screenshotting everyone ****ting on Romeo Doubs, when he leads the team in catches next year.

Disagree. Much as I would like to see them keep Boutte I think his skillset is similar to Doibs and Brown. Williams has blazing speed that none of the other receivers possess, and you want that to be a part of the unit.

I think there's a lot of over analyzing going on. They are moving players around on different days to see how they fit in with the first team, it doesn't mean they have passed others on the depth chart.

He's been the #1 WR in GB the last 3 seasons, but has been extremely mediocre who can't even crack 800 yards in a WR friendly offense. Now you're asking him to take on more responsibilities? That, if anything, is a reason to be seriously concerned.

The go to defense when a WR is struggling. But this is a terrible comparison. Julian Edelman was learning a new position while Doubs has been playing WR for a very long time. As a rookie, Edelman still managed to catch 359 yards playing behind Randy Moss and Wes Welker. On the other hand, Doubs caught 425 yards playing behind the legendary Allen Lazard and fellow rookie Christian Watson.

Media hasn't been impressed with Doubs since day 1. You guys are reaching for the stars trying to defend this guy.
I'll just say for the record I didn't want Doubs alone glad they got AJ also. Just incase Doubs struggles the Pop Douglas and Kyle Williams of the world have to step up. With this in the back of the Coaches minds we can't move Boutte under any circumstances this year. I don't care if he plays the same position as AJ. That said really holding out hope that one the UDFA's WR's make a splash.

Yeah it must be Jordon Love: no way a WR should get 85 and 96 Targets in a single season and barely getting 700yds. I mean how many of those Targets were uncatchable?? Love can be off at times he had some horrid games that I remember. Jordan Love can look like a Hofer on one play and a UDFA on the next *very inconsistent*.

Actually, Williams is tied for second fastest WR on the roster, lol.

See the “WR Speed” thread I just started for full details.

"If"? Does he seem any different this year than at the same point last year?
Not sure. He had one good day they reported. But he was playing with the 2’s. He got an off season award which is a good sign that he is giving effort. I hope it works out for the kid, he has speed we need and you can’t teach. Production is a different story. Maybe he gets over the hump soon

The offense is in deep **** if that happens.

Okay so Will Campbell's not a receiver but can we at least panic a little that he's a lil on the injured side?
