PATRIOTS TRAINING CAMP 2026 Patriots Training Camp - Day 10

I just looked up Doubs' contract and the Pats are stuck with him until after the 2027 season. I never liked this signing.

I'm more worried about Kyle Williams really hope he's not another T Thornton.

He hasn't shown me he can run routes.

Most of his yards were a simple cross and speed last year.

He's always going the wrong way.

Hope he figures this out quickly.

I liked the addition of Doubs at first - but not when I saw the $$ - they overpaid by miles.
To reiterate though - I don't think Doubs is a bust - just that, like all of them, mid-WR's don't offer much as 1st year FA's here. It takes them 2 years. So, my point is don't let Boutte go this year. Doubs might emerge as WR2 next year.

One thing I don't like is Jennings immediately jumping in at RB3. I had some interest in him last year at this time, but compared to Larison/Miller/Monty, he doesn't have half the burst, athleticism or moves that those guys have. Let alone threat in the pass game - which we need in that RB3 role.

It could be a minor injury, but the media is being really vague about it right now.

We've heard this story before: Year 2 and the WR still doesn't know how to play the position. I've already did a post on this before and showed players that don't get it by year 2 never do. This goes on with every team and not just the Pats.

There seems to be a reason KW isn’t getting time with the 1’s. Even chism is.

Maybe dude just can’t run routes right.

Or it could be there are only so many reps to go around and he has Boutte and Brown in front of him, you'll notice Hollins spends a lot of time with the 2s too

Some are still hoping this will be the year Pop finally gets it. In year 4.

Kyle Williams only had 10 catches last year well spaced I might add. He's not in Boutte class.

Boutte only had 33 catches last year. He made the most of the catches he had, but it isn't like he had a 100 catch season.

Doubs is already injured. This is why it's idiotic to trade Boutte.

He missed a walkthrough day. Let's not jump to any conclusion. He could be back on the field tomorrow.

A trade after 1 Jun 27 is a $3M dead cap hit. ( iirc from OTC )
I think that is a solvable problem if he doesn’t end up with more than 500 yards in 2026.

And maybe by end of season he figures it out and is worth keeping in 27.
OR who the hell knows, maybe he figures it out by Sep-Oct.

Has marcellas dial done anything? I was hoping he could be the boundary back up

Am I crazy, but after 2027 that’s only 2 years total. You’re complaining about that ?
Yes. It's giving me Agholor vibes. Reports out camp is that he's not impressive at all which shouldn't be surprising given how pedestrian he was in GB at the most target WR the last 3 seasons.

That's fine, but who's going to trade for that contract if he ends up playing poorly?
