I love AJ Brown, he’s what this offense needs. Now I think about Brown, Henry & Raridon in the red zone and I think our red zone offense should be much better.

Don’t forget Doubs. He’s highly underrated, but excellent in the red zone. Lots of nuance/subtleties in his route variations.

Not where you have good prospects. It’s funny how nobody looks at offensive tackle as thin despite all drafted players on the bench.

Because highly drafted players, especially first rounders, have an enormously higher success rate than undrafted ones.

You have a chance with an undrafted player. If they're a rookie that chance probably won't happen with the original team in the first year.

It's all statistics. Things can flip after one week, but we are discussing now.

If he is as good as he thinks he is then he will get that opportunity in New England by earning his snaps. Plenty of room on the field for Brown, Doubs, Boutte and Williams to all be productive.

There's also Pop Douglas, Efton Chisom, and rookie free agent Kyle Dixon to consider.

Let them all compete in camp and show who deserves to be on the field.

With AJ Brown in place as WR1, this wide receiver corps has a chance to be very good this year.

Boutte had 46 targets in 2025

I would peg Doubs 2026 targets at 60

You think the Patriots targeted Doubs in FA, signed him on the second day of free agency, guaranteed him almost $40M and are only going to target him under 4 times a game?

Why would they even sign him? How is that an efficient use of the salary cap? They could have simply targeted Boutte, Hollins, Douglas one more time a game.

I haven't seen nearly enough evidence that Doubs in his first year with the OC and QB, is better than a motivated, 4th year Boutte repeating a system and OC for the first time in his career. Let the guys fight it out, and let Boutte know that if he wins the comp and has a good year, he'll get paid appropriately.

I'm not rooting against Doubs at all, but I do feel a meaningless - but still real - twinge of loyalty to Boutte for what he's done here. That one catch against Houston alone makes me hope he keeps earning targets in the regular season.

If Doubs overtakes him, great, but I'm not gonna root for the new shiny over someone I've enjoyed rooting for ever since he was drafted and I read that he was in a gang bang.

TE may be a bigger concern for the Pats brass than DE.
Which is odd considering Jacas-status (fun to say).
But, also gives a sneaky suspicion that the coaches know something about Swinson or Luketa that we don't.
