Seahawks got SB advice from source with conflict of interest

MacDonald is doing the Mayo walk back. Nobody in the NFC West would have any intel on this current Pats team. It was Brady.
When did he say the person with a conflict gave him intel on the Patriots?

This was the whole exchange:

Dan: "Who did you seek advice from going into the Super Bowl that might surprise me?"

Mike: "Well I don't know about surprised -- I called, John Harbaugh and I talked, he was great. Um ... Probably can't mention one guy that really helped us out that had some conflict of interest (laughs)"

Dan: "Can we guess?"

Mike: "Um, sure, I don't know if I'm gonna tell you but go ahead."

Dan: "Bill Belichick?"

Mike: "I'm not that cool."

Dan: "(laughs) You wouldn't, you wouldn't have --"

Mike: "No no, I've had a beer with Coach Belichick and that was pretty cool. That was a pretty cool day."

Dan: "Who else would we guess. Kyle Shanahan?"

Mike: "(laughs) No, no no. But a lot of it was like hey, there was a lot of like, I think one of the biggest themes of last year that we changed from year one to year two was like, we need to stick to who we are outside the circumstance but the Super Bowl is different. So you do have to like concede that the process is different throughout like the media and you know, there's things like halftime and pregame and stuff like that. But um, that's the way we framed it to our team. And frankly, for me, for a guy that hasn't been to a Super Bowl, it simplified it. You know? It simplified things. It took pressure off you that you had to do everything 'right'. You know, and you gotta be perfect all week. It's like, no, just relax, take a deep breath. Let's go be us, you know, different setting, let's just go be us and you know, not worry about all the extra stuff."

---

To me it sounds like his "conflict of interest" person just helped with prepping for the big event itself, not with anything to do with scheme. So that could be anyone who's been there and done that. Doesn't seem like it has anything to do with game planning. People seem to be snipping a couple sentences out of the exchange and then inventing some implication that it had to do with scheme even though no one ever mentioned such a thing and the question was around general advice.

The whole MacDonald thing is oddly circumspect. Then there's the below report allegedly from "film study" but then you wonder WHO might've told them what to specifically look for ...
