Seahawks got SB advice from source with conflict of interest

So sounds like it's confirmed it wasn't Brady. Guess the GOAT bashing will have to be another day.

As for Mayo well the Pats only lost by 2 scores so he couldn't have helped that much lol

Based on the segment, I don't think it was Brady. McDonald said he wasn't cool enough to get intel from Belichick. That means he wouldn't have been cool enough to get it from Brady either.

The problem is McDonald's denial it was Brady after everyone started to speculate it was Brady rings hollow because he was likely going to deny it was Brady at that point whether or not it was actually Brady.

This is why you shouldn't say crap that McDonald says. All it does is make people who probably do anything look bad. For much of the fan base, Brady is going to be labeled a traitor whether he was the guy or not. He should have said who it was or not say he got info from someone with conflicting interests at all.

Has anyone considered the plausible explanation that this is probably someone from the 49ers organization? The person helped them prep for the event. Given that it was held at the 49ers home Stadium and the teams are division rivals that would fit the bill.

But by all means, let’s keep going back to a guy who last played in the Patriots offensive system before COVID-19 providing so much incredible Intel to **** over his former team, where he has a statue and his number retired, and especially many of the amazing fans on this message board.

Clearly it was Brant Boyer, ST coordinator for the Jets, 2016-2024, now ST coordinator for the 49ers. I've figured it out. Gimmie the prize!

There's still a chance it was Brady. If you already obfuscated your source once.... *shrugs*

But the fact that we even think there's a possibility is not a good look for Tom. Regardless of how Belichick or Kraft treated you...you're still treating the fans pretty poorly.

And if it was a Belichick? The petty is just off the charts.

Wait a second. You're actually saying that it's on Brady that fans mistakenly blame him for something he didn't even do?

That's ****ed up.

The "conflict of interest" makes absolutely no sense.

If Tom's alibi was that he was mogging the room during a run on the catwalk, I'd believe him.

Every member of the 49ers organization would have a conflict of interest given it’s division arrival. Almost every member would also know things about setting up and preparing in the area and at the stadium.

Oh silly me I forgot that Brady is from San Mateo. I’m guessing he drove a tour bus for seven hours and pointed out all the landmarks and places where the Seahawks can practice while hacking into Josh McDaniels iCloud photos.

Why would the 49ers help the Seahawks in any way? In fact, McVay and now MacDonald winning a Super Bowl is a terrible look for Kyle Shanahan. The 49ers also haven't won a Super Bowl since 1994, so I really doubt they'd want the Seahawks to win their 2nd in 13 years.

I highly doubt is was to prevent the Pats from taking the lead of Super Bowl wins.

Maybe it was Bill

Because it only takes one person, they’re the host city, a lot of these NFL guys know each other, despite playing or coaching for different teams, and this would be the exact reason why it is a conflict of interest. But the key is that the 49ers were not playing against the Seahawks, so such an action may be a conflict of interest, but would not be some massive scandal.

A very plausible explanation: some non-primary staff member, not necessarily that close to the field or game planning, with the 49ers helped the Seahawks with some logistics about practicing, transportation, etc., very possible that a staff member on a hosting city team would be expected to, or would typically be gracious enough to, assist the participating teams.

My guess is that basically everything about this interview is highly overvalued in terms of what it actually provided for the Seahawks for an advantage. It seems that MacDonald is just being casual, giving a few shout outs, etc.

I do not think the Seahawks are saying this publicly if they thought this would be outing someone who helped them anyway. Why would he casually be telling the media that he was involved in some scandalous conflict of interest which detracts from the win? Clearly, he is not saying this as a bombshell big deal for investigation.

This certainly would not be a thread here if not for the frothing Team Bill crowd desperately looking for another scrap. The only reason that Tom Brady was brought up, was due to the ever present paranoia from this group, though there’s a contingent of them in the mainstream Patriots media also.

Define conflict of interest in this scenario and you have your answer... By definition alone it was someone with ties to New England or to the league front office... Those are the only two places a conflict of interest can come from...

There is no conflict of interest if any info came from outside those two sources...

MacDonald either dramatized his reports to make them seem more ominous /someone passed along info they shouldn't have... Or he was forthright in his reports and someone is a rat...

The original article was designed to bring Brady to mind after Dumbass dropped the I got no dog in the fight comment...

Laud him, Deride him, whatever... Dude is an ******* who has become one of the most unlikeable players in Patriots history.

Holy **** I just want to save this one before you delete it

No fanbase hates TB12 as much as the Patriots
Incredible really. I have never seen a fanbase hate on their greatest ever player, one who won 6 rings, like Pats fans on here. Is this a Boston is full of assholes kind of thing? I don't get it.

I gave more clown emojies in this thread than every other thread, ever, put together. Some of these people did not deserve to enjoy the 6 rings. Embarassing I root for the same team as they do.

Agree, it’s tragic that a lot of these guys ever got to celebrate those championships.
