Boutte available for trade?

I guarantee you final say was written into his contract.
I have never understood why people post, "I guarantee" for things they can not guarantee and no-one believes their guarantee.
He just allowed more collaborations. He could probably overruled it at any time.
More conjecture and guessing.

Thread title: "Boutte available for trade?"

In fairness, the likelihood of Boutte getting traded gets less and less as we approach camp and he is still on the roster. If they are going to actively shop him, they want him off the roster so he doesn't go down with injury and then they have to keep him.

He may still get traded. But I am guessing at this point, it would be a team that loses a receiver in camp and is willing to overpay for Boutte is the only way it happens.

Phil Perry is a Belichick basher?

There was a more of a collaborative effort, but Belichick maintained final say on personnel. That means he still had total control and he just chose to allow more input from others.

And I am not a Belichick basher. I have always said that Belichick was more important than Brady in the first half of the dynasty (that then I get bashed as a Brady hater by the Brady crowd). I just realize that towards the end, Belichick was no longer the same guy he was during the dynasty years. He had lost his fast ball.
Jeff Howe said otherwise.

And yes, certain beat reporters disliked Bill.

I am dealing with facts. Read the first sentence of paragraph 2.

What part of "While Belichick had final say" do you not understand? If you have final say, you have personnel control.

So it was reported that Belichick maintained final say on personnel decisions. I am not ignoring facts. @One-If-By-Sea
The article clearly states, "it was still a collaborative process". It is not a collaborative process if BB is deciding without others agreeing. If others need to agree than BB does not have full control. If you mean final say if most or all agree with the decision, I think that is right. If you mean final say after the team disagrees with him, than that is doubtful.

OK. Have a nice day. Enjoy the World Cup.

Bill keeping Mac in games as he crashed and burned with a smirk on his face was a clear indicator what he thought of the pick.

Or that Bill had gone soft.

Like choosing Patricia for DC, or his entire life since.

Yep Bill had final say. Matt Patricia wouldn't be offensive coordinator the following year if he didn't.

It also clearly states that Belichick had final say. If you have final say, you total control because can overrule any decision. If Belichick didn't want to draft Mac Jones, they would drafted Mac Jones. Plain and simple. He had total control of the pick and he allowed input from everyone else.

Bill Belichick had total control before.

If it didn’t change why would Bob announce it changed very publicly?

You are reading what you want to read, and ignoring the substance and balance of the reporting. Have a great week.

Mac was mentally weak and of low character… there’s no coaching that away.

Bill keeping Mac in games as he crashed and burned with a smirk on his face was a clear indicator what he thought of the pick.
That just demonstrates that he was badly coached.

It was reported that other teams in need of a coach have cited how badly the QB position was managed between 2021-2023 as one reason why they passed on Bill coming to their team and now he's out of the NFL probably for good.

Or that Bill had gone soft.

Like choosing Patricia for DC, or his entire life since.
Or Bill knew his time in NE was short because Jonathan was taking a larger role and didn’t want Bill.

No, badly raised, blame the parents for coddling him.
his parents did a good job his Sr year at Alabama and his rookie year with the Pats
His parents did a bad job the next season when he got hurt

No. I am not you are. Never once was it described any detail what a more collaborative effort would be. The article Wozzy posted said that Jones was their highest rated player available and Belichick wanted to wait and draft Mills, but Belichick CHOSE to go with the group and draft Jones. It specifically says he chose to go with the group. It was his decision. He could have overruled them, but chose not to. That is on him.

Whether or not he wanted to draft Jones or not is irrelevant. He CHOSE to draft Jones because he went with the consensus. That is him maintaining total control. It is him choosing to relinquish that control and going with the group. That is still his responsibility.

College isn’t real life, it’s to prepare you for real life… but it’s easy to remain a coddled athlete.

Publicly blaming teammates for errant passes, slapping opponents in the junk, going up the backstairs to cry to the boss when your coach gets tough with you.

He was soft. In hindsight Barmore first and Davis Mills probably would have yielded better results.
