Our Defense is NOT Loaded; our BACKUPS are weak.

You can't develop young players and have a proven bench. The OP assumes that because many of the depth players aren't completely proven they must be " weak." It takes time to build a program that both develops young players and uses them as starters and proven depth. But in the meantime he can just assume that they suck.
sure you can
the Pats did so last season

honestly, how many posters would have a better feel at this early stage if Gibbons was retained and Hill did not injure

you know very well what I said.
-how many UDFA's does a team sign each season (approx 500 signed by all teams)
-how many of them make the initial 53 man roster (approx 35-50 by all teams)

I listed the past 9 years of the Pats udfa's to make the initial 53 man roster.
14 players over the course of 9 years, with over half of the 9 in 2017
Yeah, you either screwed up or lied. Your list omitted a bunch of guys.

For example you wrote:
  • 2022: 2 UDFAs — Brenden Schooler (S), DaMarcus Mitchell (LB).
That season Schooler, Mitchell, Quandre Mosley and Raleigh Webb all contributed to the team. 4 players. You missed guys last season also.

So did you lie to prove a point?

You had no clue who Gibbens was at this point last season… and nobody could predict Hill getting hurt in tee shirts.

And if the Pats could develop players last year then why can’t they do it again with Namdi Obiazor?

They also retained Muma and let Gibbens walk for peanuts. They kept the better player.

This team is deeper than last year at this time.
