Romeo Doubs just turned 26 a couple of months ago.I think you’re making too much of that. Doubs is 31, and there is an easy out for the team after 2027 season when he will be 33. Boutte is 24 now, and the Patriots don’t have to give him a new contract until after this season. Doubs is the WR #2 of the present, Boutte is the #2 WR of the future. Team won’t be paying two #2 WRs as you fear for more than one season, which will be a reasonable price for sustained excellence now and across the transition.
