Chiefs for life like Brady should have been a Patriots for life thanks BB. Can't wait for the known Homer's to knock this deal.

Someone do a wellness check on Robert.

So…$64MM a season. Assuming that isn’t the cap number because that’s like 20% of the cap on one player .

Oof…doing business in the elite WB era is becoming cost prohibitive. Drake likely gets close to that if not $70MM/yr

I see I triggered Reftime15 as I figured I would. Way too easy.

I hope Kermit is gracious enough to take that money and pay his refs that the league fired. It’s the least he could do since they were doing a great job for him. He sucks without them..,. Just sayin

I agree. Trying to push Brady out and not maximizing his final year was a massive mistake. They had one more Super Bowl left in them from 2019 to 2020. The good news is, it only took the Pats 5 seasons to get back to the Super Bowl. Nobody expects another 20 year Dynasty, but I think this era of the Pats can be a more successful version of the late 90's Pats. Those late 90's teams had injuries and bad personnel moves which derailed that era.

Ya he’s not playing till 38. They’ll regret it.
I'd expect those later years aren't guaranteed and IF he can play that long they'll have to revisit it (like we did with Owneu)

That being said, it's still an overpay for a QB coming off an ACL tear

I wonder what it would have been if he'd been healthy - $1 billion?

That being said he's got 3 Super Bowl wins under his belt and Maye does not so I don't think Maye will be getting a $64 million AAV

I think that's where the bargaining number starts.

I'm sure his agent will try - as will the agents for Caleb Williams and Jayden Daniels

But if any of them want to be in Mahomes' pay grade they're going to have to win the Super Bowl before next season - which would still have them with two less Super Bowl wins than Mahomes

That’s the way it is. If you hit on the QB, you f-in pay.

How many years of this deal will Andy Reid be around?

True. Honest question though…can a team have both an elite QB on a non rookie contract AND a team that is good to really good everywhere else?

Feels like a “no”.

If the Pats pay Drake AND Gonzo, that’s $110MM/yr for two players

Good... Like anyone is still afraid of Mahomes

Philly killed that chump. Chiefs will regret this contract imo. I'm glad they did it though, **** that franchise.

While I do agree with you, dumb GM's don't operate like that (they should). The QB market or market in general wouldn't be out of hand as it currently if operated differently.

Here's why Maye is going to obliterate the QB market if he has back to back strong seasons (this **** is going to blow your mind):

He's very young.

He already has more playoff wins than Dak Prescott in 10 years in the NFL. He's making $60M AAV.

Jordan Love and Trevor Lawrence are making $55M AAV. Both of them have absolutely no business making that.

If he has another 4,000+ yards and 30+ TD season, $65M AAV will be easy.
