Boutte available for trade?

New regime, the past has nothing to do with it. Franchises aren’t cursed.

I don’t. With Brown and Doubs addition Pop could have a big role here. Boutte is a lesser talent and redundant.
I think Boutte is better than Doubs no disrespect. Also Doubs 700ys bar is not insurmountable...that's not setting any world on fire.

Why do you think this? Advanced metrics, read lots of insider magazines, or just like spouting stuff. Sometimes when someone posts, who doesn't really know very much about football, they expose their lack of knowledge with each subsequent post. You kind of are the definition of this. Less posting would probably be a good idea to help hide your ignorance.

I Stopped reading right there: any Team that has Sucked at Drafting WR's for years have no business moving on from one who has developed. I think most fans here prefer Boutte over say Pop or Chism.

Boutte is a good, not a great WR. He is a solid #3 WR in my opinion. You can move on from him if you think he is redundant to what they have that is better.

Again, I am happy to see him stay. But won't be upset if he goes because the Patriots have a wealth of depth.

Boutte plays a different position than Pop and Chism. So that is probably why people would rather see Boutte go. The Pats don't have a top line starter at slot. Boutte is a lite version of AJ Brown.

I think Boutte would rather be traded because he wants to go to a place where he can start. He isn't starting in New England unless Brown goes down.

I still think it would be wise to keep him; we have nothing to lose if we do at least for this season.

The reason Boutte is the odd man out is because he is a contested catch X receiver, and a good one at that, but he's no AJ Brown.

Brown, Doubs, Hollins and Williams (to some extent) can play the X role.

Pop is the best separator and man beater on the team, which is an important element to have, unfortunately he struggles to find the open spaces in zone when in the slot. If he did he'd be getting a lot more reps, but his skill set brings an important element to the WR room.

If you admire Boutte the player, let him go and further his career with another team rather than sit on the bench and diminish his market value. I'd be shocked if we got more than a 6th for him.

This may just be hopeful thinking but with two of our Edge rushers questionable, I would think Wolf will be looking to see who might be available via trade

Kayvon Thibodeaux is now 3rd on the Giants depth chart and has been the subject of trade talk with the drafting of Carter

Meanwhile the Giants could use some depth at WR and we have Boutte available for trade. While ESPN's Dan Graziano thinks we could get him for a 5th round pick that may be too low but Boutte plus a 5th rounder seems like it could be feasible

Boutte and Nabers were on the same LSU team as well.

I suspect that a 2028 3rd or a 2027 4th will be enough.

What you suggest is that Boutte is worth enough to trade up from the 5th to the 4th. I would hope to get more for him.

Doubs with Drake will set new career highs.

It would certainly be foolish to trade him at Any Time before the end of training camp at the very, Very earliest.

Would Pop's role here change if Diggs is re-signed?

Remember when the media said posters said Boutte was going to get cut in 2025? Well, the media is at it again. While I'm not as high as a small minority here, trading him for 2026 would be idiotic and it would only take one injury to bite them in the ass.

AJ Brown and Doubs weren't on the team in 2025. We literally have 4 other receivers who can play the X.

No we don't.
Not counting Boutte, the #4 and #5 WR's are Williams and Douglas.

Do you think that most contenders have better at #4 and #5 WR?

I discount the PS crowd of Chism, Davis and company.

There is a bit of an issue here.

Many of us want to acquire an ILB or EDGE rusher.

We don't want to use a 2027 pick from the first 5 rounds.

And you say we should use Boutte either.

How exactly will we get other teams to part with the player or players that we want?

No we don't.

Yes they do.

Pop Douglas is a multi-year starter who has the ability to get 6-8 passes for up to 100 yards in a game. Not every game, but he has done it on multiple occasions. He would start on a lot of teams.

Kyle Williams has the ability to take the top off a defense and be a lethal deep threat for at least a few plays a game. If he take a sizeable year two jump, he might be a starter quality WR.

Chism has made the most of his limited time on the field. Another player who could be a much better player this year in year two.

That is before we talk about Boutte. The Patriots right now arguably have the deepest WR room in the league. They may not have the best, but that is because they don't have two number one quality WRs like a lot of teams.
