I don't think it's preemptive at all and is something you don't say about a player publicly. He's a risk and he hasn't played well enough to warrant tying up so much money at that position. If he isn't traded in training camp, I think the Pats let him walk in 2027. He'd have to duplicate 2023 in order for the Pats to second guess that.
There are some posters who get triggered if you talk bad about him, but most of the media agrees that he hasn't been playing well since the blood clots. I've posted it here before, but the media reported earlier in the season that Barmore was getting frustrated because he's having a hard time getting to QB in which Vrabel had to have a pep talk with him to not worry about it.
But he isn't the only one I'm looking at as well. For the amount of money Williams is making, he's got to step it up. His was impactful in run support, but surprisingly meh in the pass rush department. Not like it would've made much of a difference, but he was whiffing badly multiple times at Darnold in the Super Bowl.
Both he and Barmore are making way too much money to have such little production between the two of them. Posters go straight to the double team defense, but there are many other players that are fighting through it and making an impact. It's just not a valid excuse.
